This includes: 4 acceptances to three Ivy League schools (Cornell University, Yale, Penn State), Cal Tech, 2 Stanford, 9 Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, 5 UC Berkeley, 6 UCLA, 1 University of Southern California, 2 Colorado School of Mines, 2 University of Notre Dame, Georgetown, and the US Naval Academy. The amount of merit, scholarship and institutional grant aid offered to the Class of 2015 OLP grants more than $2.6 million in tuition assistance & scholarships to students each year Founded by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet (CSJ) in 1882, OLP has successfully educated young women for more than 132 years to meet the needs of society. Students are required to complete 85 hours of service by the time of graduation, however, most go above and beyond the minimum requirements because the culture of our community is that of nurturing responsible women educated to the needs of society. OLP partners with many organizations in San Diego to provide service opprtunities including Catholic Charities, Rady Childrens’ Hospital, Salk Institute, San Diego Zoo, & UCSD-Research to name a few. $20,740,727 $2.6 M Service Learning 19% 30% of the class of 2015 will be the first in their family to attend college. of the class of 2015 plans to major in a STEM field of study Alumnae gaining attention for their global investment through the CSJ lens of social justice include Danielle Burner ’14 who is performing cancer research at UCSD Moores Cancer Center; Rachel McKinney ’04 who manages an organic urban farmers food project in Africa; and Lauren Barclay ’05 who is using her Harvard Ph.D. to develop pharmaceuticals to treat “undruggable” diseases. STEAM Curriculum OUR STUDENTS At OLP, we help our students develop the skills necessary to take on any challenge. We offer 47 classes in the STEAM disciplines. Science, technology, engineering, arts and math (STEAM) subjects are integrated into the curriculum, giving our girls the opportunity to learn and innovate across a variety of disciplines. 164 Graduating Seniors in the Class of 2015 This class also boasts 4 National Merit Scholars, 1 National Merit Finalist and 5 National Hispanic Merit Scholars.
