Summary



Human resources and education are given high priority by the Government as
Brunei Darussalam aspires to be a well-educated and highly skilled nation and
to be among the top countries in the world via its planned targets set in its
long term Vision 2035 (Wawasan 2035).
Due to the small population, it was previously more economical for students
undertaking engineering to be sent to overseas universities.
However, the increase in students undertaking engineering in line with the
development and requirements of Brunei Darussalam has led to local
introduction of the degree programmes.

At Institut Teknologi Brunei (ITB), local engineering undergraduate
programmes have been set up, with graduates already successfully produced
and working in Industry.

The subsequent process is international and accreditation of the engineering
programmes for international recognition and global mobilization of the
graduates.
