Governor Budgets $0 for SHIP
Governor Scott’s budget for the upcoming year has no money for the State
Housing Initiatives Partnership Program. Even
though the documentary stamp tax, which has a percentage of those funds fund SHIP by Florida Statutes, the Governor calls for the $120 million to go
other programs. The Governor included $29 million
for downpayment assistance program that is paired
with the State Bond Program, but very little of that
funding comes to Pasco County—only 43 Pasco
homebuyers were served out of 4,283 statewide.
