Mother Cabrini believed that ordinary people could do extraordinary things. Her own
phenomenal accomplishments are a testament to this belief. Throughout her life, she sought
the support of people who understood that with prayer and hard work, the extraordinary is
possible. Through their support, this first American saint did just that.
I don’t need to convince you that Cabrini students, alumni, staff, faculty, parents, donors
and friends regularly “Do Something Extraordinary.” You can find evidence of this in the
media, in classrooms, in athletic contests, and in local and global communities. Google
“Cabrini College reduces tuition” and you’ll find pages of articles, from outlets such as
The Philadelphia Inquirer to CNNMoney.com, about the College reducing tuition by 12.5
percent while keeping merit aid at existing levels. Read The Loquitur online, and you’ll enjoy
student-written articles on social justice that earned national journalism awards. On Cabrini
Athletics’ web pages, you’ll find a video documenting the men’s basketball team making
history on “The Road to the NCAA Division III Championship Game.” Drive through
Norristown and you’ll see streets lined with trees planted by our students.
While these examples provide clear evidence of the extraordinary, less evident to a casual
observer is the support behind each accomplishment. In this Annual Report, you will meet
people who make extraordinary happen, such as:
• Donors who made it possible for a student to spend a Semester at Sea.
• An alumna who has retired from a lengthy teaching career and now devotes her time to
teaching English to foreign-born parishioners at a church in northern New Jersey.
• An alumna who established a foundation to raise awareness about distracted driving.
• Faculty members who, through funding from an alumnus donor, created a unique,
interdisciplinary course that partnered Cabrini students with the Norristown
community.
• A student whose dedication impacted the lives and futures of local high school students.
• Alumni and parents whose support of Cabrini men’s basketball played a part in the
team’s historic journey to the NCAA Division III Championship Game.
Such generosity of time, talent and resources demonstrates confidence in Cabrini College
and a commitment to the “Education of the Heart” mission we hold so dear. It is through this
mission that we make the ordinary become the extraordinary. But we could not do it without

SCHOL ARSHIP EXPANDS
STUDEN TS’ HORIZONS
Joan Buzzallino ’66 believes that travel can be
transformational for a student. That’s why she funded
the Buzzallino International Experience—awarded for
the first time in 2011–12—to provide a global experience
to a student who otherwise couldn’t afford it.
Such largesse is common for Buzzallino, a longtime
supporter of the College who completed her third term
as a Cabrini Trustee in 2012. In 2005, she established
the Buzzallino Family Faculty Scholars Award to foster
a climate of lifelong learning among Cabrini faculty, and
to enrich the intellectual life of the campus.
After students submitted applications for the
Buzzallino International Experience scholarship, donors
John and Elizabeth Schanz learned that there were not
one, but two extraordinary candidates. The Schanzes
generously offered funding so that an additional
student could travel abroad.
The Buzzallino scholarship helped send graphic design
major Daniel Alarcon ’12 to England, while funding
from the Schanzes allowed communication major Shae
McPherson ’13 to set off for a Semester at Sea.
McPherson—who lost his mother to cancer in
2010, during his sophomore year at Cabrini—was
overwhelmed by the generosity. In addition to his
studies and tutoring hours for the College’s Center
for Teaching & Learning, McPherson also worked in
Cabrini’s Admissions and Athletics offices to help make
ends meet.
“We were delighted to have the opportunity to provide
Shae a boost on his development and career journey,”
says John Schanz, a Cabrini Trustee since 2007.
In June, McPherson flew to the port city of Freeport,
Bahamas, where he boarded the 590-foot MV Explorer
a day earlier than most students on his voyage.
McPherson participated in orientation for his work-

study position in the program’s alumni development
office—which also supplemented his Semester at
Sea tuition.
There are nine classrooms aboard, as well as a library,
student union, and computer lab. On this particular 62day voyage, the “traveling university” took McPherson,
his cabinmate from China, and more than 500 other
students to eight countries in Europe and North Africa,
including Turkey, Greece, Spain, Croatia, Italy and
Morocco.
Part of the required curriculum is a Global Studies
course about the history, culture and economic system
in each country visited. McPherson also enrolled in a
travel sketchbook class and a music cultures class to
complete nine credits.
McPherson was looking forward to taking advantage
of Semester at Sea’s field programs in each country
—optional organized trips in which students explored
the country while engaging with local residents. One
program that McPherson, a Muslim, signed up for
included the opportunity to break the Ramadan fast
with a family in Morocco.
“I didn’t realize how much I was going to learn about
myself, and about what my purpose is in the world,”
says McPherson, who hadn’t been out of the United
States since he visited family in Syria when he was
three years old.
McPherson’s long-term goal is to develop a youth
mentoring program in his hometown of Allentown, Pa.
First, he hopes to enroll in the master’s in organization
leadership program at Cabrini in fall 2013.

A COMMITMENT
TO GIVING FROM
THE HEART
It may be 40 years since Mary RyanZanotti ’72 graduated from Cabrini
College, but the lessons she learned still
influence every day of her life.
“I learned that by receiving an ‘Education
of the Heart,’ I was expected to give back
from my heart in everything that I do,”
she says. “We were taught to make a
commitment not only to help individual
students learn, but to do our part to make
significant contributions to the profession
of teaching.”
Now retired from a 36-year career
in the classroom, she volunteers her
time teaching English to foreign-born
parishioners of St. Thomas the Apostle
Church in Oak Ridge, N.J. She also serves
the Teacher’s Association of West Milford,
N.J., facilitating new teacher training each
year. This year’s class of new teachers
provided her a special bonus: four of her
former students were part of the training.
“I was so elated to see these four
teachers, and proud to see some of my
exceptional students become enthusiastic
educators,” says Ryan-Zanotti, whose
sister Kathleen Ryan-Peterson ’68 also
graduated from Cabrini and enjoyed a
long teaching career in North Jersey.
“My experience at Cabrini not only
prepared me to be a good teacher,
it prepared me to make a heartfelt
commitment to serve others and to be
the best educator I could be,” she says. “It
is a true pleasure to give back to Cabrini
through my time, service and gifts.”
A dedicated educator and volunteer,
Ryan-Zanotti is grateful for her Cabrini
experiences and for the lifelong friends
she made while an undergraduate.
“Cabrini prepared me to make
commitments to people and I am proud
that some of my dearest and best friends
today are women I met while at college,”
she says. “When Mary Ellen Jaindl Roper
’72, Michele Waldron Daly ’72 and I get
talking, it’s as if no time has gone by from
our days at school.”
While it has been years since she was a
college student, Ryan-Zanotti still visits
Cabrini, especially for reunions and special
events, such as the Mansion Gala and the
Class of 1972 Cocktail Reception at Alumni
Weekend. Each trip from North Jersey
seems to turn back the clock for her.
“I still drive up that driveway and get
tears in my eyes,” she says. “It always feels
like I am coming home.”
Ryan-Zanotti’s dedication to giving back
extends to her alma mater, where she
has served on reunion committees, as a
Class Agent, and on the Alumni Board of
Directors. She is a member of the Cabrini
College 1957 Legacy Society by virtue of
including a bequest to the College in her will.

ANGEL A D ONATO’S CRUSADE
With nearly 800 ninth and tenth graders hanging on
her every word, Angela Donato ’11, G’12 described the
horrific day her sister and unborn nephew died.
In addition to promoting safe driving, this year the
foundation awarded four scholarships to students in
need who have suffered a similar loss.
“I’m going to walk you through my life since
June 1, 2011,” Donato said a year later in a presentation
at Paul VI High School in Haddonfield, N.J.
The foundation holds fundraising events such as an
annual motorcycle ride and Bowling for Bolis, and sells
wrist bands, green ribbon pins and car magnets.
Toni Donato-Bolis, 28, was nine months pregnant
when an alleged distracted driver crashed into her
Ford Escape, just a half mile from her Washington
Township, N.J., home. Before she lost consciousness,
Toni called her mother Mary from the wrecked vehicle.
When her mother arrived on scene a few minutes
later, Toni was unresponsive.
In 2012, the foundation partnered with New Jersey
legislators to pass the Kulesh, Kubert and Bolis law,
allowing prosecutors to file criminal charges against
drivers who illegally use a cell phone and, as a result,
seriously injure or kill someone. If this law had been
in place last year, the 21-year-old man who crashed
into Toni would have faced serious jail time and fines.
Instead, after investigating the crash for more than a
year, the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s office did
not find grounds to charge him criminally.
“We had no idea at that time that Toni was never
going to wake up,” Donato said.
With family gathered at Kennedy Hospital just a half
hour after the crash, doctors broke the news that
neither Toni nor her unborn son, Ryan Jeffrey (R.J.),
had survived. Toni was due to deliver R.J. just two
days later.
“I will never forget that stabbing feeling when the
doctors told us that Toni and the baby didn’t make it,”
Donato said.
Toni left behind devoted husband Eric Bolis and
daughter Mia, then two years old. Toni’s other sister,
Annette, graduated from Cabrini in 2007.
The Donatos’ grief turned to determination not to let
a tragedy such as this strike another family, and led to
the establishment of the Toni Donato-Bolis and Baby
R.J. Foundation.
Through the foundation, Angela Donato has
presented about the dangers of distracted driving
to more than 20 high schools in Pennsylvania and
New Jersey.
“Now I can say she didn’t die in vain,” Donato said.
“Her name is honored. Her memory is honored.”
But the law isn’t the only way Toni and R.J.’s story
is affecting the lives of others. After Donato told
her cautionary story to the students at Paul VI High
School, one young man raised his hand and asked
how he could help.
Donato responded, “Please don’t text and drive. Be an
example. If you know someone else is driving, don’t
text them. This is what you can do to help.”
At Cabrini, Donato majored in education and received
the Sibling Legacy Scholarship (2007–11), the
Alumni Regional Scholarship (2007–08) and the
Martha Dale Endowed Scholarship (2009–10). Even in
the midst of her family tragedy, Donato understood
the importance of continuing her education, so she
pushed through her grief and earned a master’s
degree from Cabrini in 2012.

EXPLORES HISTORY OF MENTAL HEALTH
Several years ago at a Mexican
restaurant, two Cabrini faculty
members talked about the
possibility of teaching a joint class
relating to the campus across the
street from them—Norristown
State Hospital (NSH).
Gradually, conversations between
Associate Professor of History
and Political Science Darryl Mace,
Ph.D., and Associate Professor of
Psychology Melissa Terlecki, Ph.D.,
about co-teaching a historical and
psychological exploration of the
hospital grew more serious. One
of the roadblocks, though, was
funding—or lack thereof.
Fortunately, a unique endowment
established by N. Peter Hamilton
’96 and his children through the
1976 Foundation encourages
faculty to explore “interdisciplinarity” to enhance teaching.
In 2011, funding through the
1976 Foundation Fund for the
Enrichment of Teachers’ Teaching
and Learning allowed Cabrini to
launch a new annual program
which awards fellowships to fulltime Cabrini faculty in partnership
with the Office of Academic Affairs
and the Center for Teaching &
Learning at Cabrini. The yearlong
fellowship enhances teaching by
providing faculty with resources to
develop approaches that bolster
active student learning.

awarded funding for one year
of research and preparation
for an Engagements with the
Common Good (ECG) course
to be implemented in fall 2012.
“The History of Mental Health/
Illness” would cover a variety of
mental health topics, including
diagnosis, treatment and stigmas,
specifically in relation to NSH—the
only remaining state hospital in
Southeastern Pennsylvania.
The funding allowed Mace and
Terlecki to develop partnerships
with organizations such as
The West End, a community
association in Norristown. NSH
and The West End asked Cabrini
to involve students in research
regarding the influence of the
hospital on the community and
vice versa, including historical
changes in the treatment of mental
illness.
Though NSH now has fewer than
400 beds on campus—with half
of the beds filled—at its peak
there were nearly 5,000 patients.
Established in 1880, the hospital
was self-sustaining; it had its own
train station, post office, and farm.
“What Norristown State Hospital
did in the 19th and early 20th
centuries was revolutionary,”
Terlecki says. “They didn’t use
restraints, but instead encouraged
patients to work. Patients were
carpenters and bricklayers—
they helped build the hospital’s
campus.”
Today, visitors to the board room
in Building 19 can still sit on the
intricately carved chairs, which
patients constructed from oak
trees on campus.
The ECG course will be offered
to students in any major, meeting
either at Cabrini or at NSH to
tour the facility and meet with
historians and community
partners. Mace and Terlecki hope
to continue the course every (or
every other) fall semester.

LISA GOMEZ EMPOWERS
LOCAL STUDENTS
TO REACH FOR DREAMS
Early in the 2010 academic year, Cynthia Halpern, Ph.D., chair of romance languages at Cabrini,
recognized that Lisa Gomez ’12 would be a perfect fit for a new after-school mentoring program in
Norristown.
The program, a partnership between the College and Norristown Area School District, brought
together Cabrini students and Latino students at Norristown Area High School (NAHS) as part of
an Engagements with the Common Good (ECG) seminar series.
Gomez, an exercise science major and Spanish minor, already had extensive service experience in
Norristown and Philadelphia. She felt she could make a difference in students’ lives through the
mentoring program, “Our Interconnected Hemisphere,” in which Cabrini students encouraged
NAHS students to graduate and apply for post-high school opportunities such as college
scholarships.
Gomez has roots in Puerto Rico—her father emigrated from Manati, on the country’s northern
coast, when he was 12, and her mother emigrated from Arecibo, just 25 miles away from Manati,
when she was 18. Gomez speaks Spanish with her mother, and sometimes with her father, three
older sisters and one older brother. Her Spanish-speaking background was an asset for the
program at NAHS, where Gomez mentored, translated, tutored and became friends with the
students, while also forming a connection with their families.
“We were there to encourage and motivate these students to finish high school and think about
their future,” she says, pointing out that Cabrini students’ takeaway was just as impactful. “We
helped these students with their schoolwork and personal life, and they in turn helped us with our
Spanish.”
Though the mentoring program was predominantly for Latino students, students from a variety
of backgrounds were welcomed, including students from China and Africa. No matter their
background, the high school students all had something in common—they were searching for a
better life. One student, through Gomez’s support, found the strength to leave a gang he had been
tied to. Another student frequently talked about her future and career possibilities.
After her internship ended, Gomez continued supporting the program as a leader of a group
of Cabrini students who went to NAHS every Monday. She stuck with the program through her
graduation from Cabrini in May 2012.
“All of the NAHS students will always have a special place in my heart,” Gomez says.
Lisa Gomez ’12 was twice named a Pierce Scholar—an award that recognizes leadership in
community outreach—through the Leo and Peggy Pierce Family Foundation. In November 2011,
she also received the Charles A. Mastronardi Service and Leadership Award for her outstanding
contributions to community service and civic engagement.

TITLE GAME ENERGIZES
CABRINI COMMUNITY
Now serving as vice chair of Cabrini’s Board of
Trustees and as chairman, CEO and president of
USLI in Wayne, Pa., Nerney is just as enamored of
the current Cabrini men’s team as ever. Despite
the 63-60 loss to Wisconsin-Whitewater at the
March 2012 Division III championship in Salem,
Va., he looks forward to what’s in store for the
team in the future.
Longtime supporter of Cabrini’s athletic
programs, Tom Nerney ’77, was there in the
beginning. When then Assistant Professor of
History Jolyon Girard, Ph.D., started a men’s
basketball team at Cabrini, Nerney was happy just
to be on the court as a member of that first team.
“Over the years, Cabrini has had a lot of great
teams and a lot of great players, but there was
something special about this particular run,” said
Nerney, who was elected into the Cabrini Athletic
Hall of Fame in 2006. “It’s great for students to
come to Cabrini with the expectation and the
possibility that if they really work hard, and put
the right pieces together, they can take the team
to the Final Four again.”
Tom Nerney ’77, who was inducted into the
Cabrini Athletic Hall of Fame in 2006, has
supported Cabrini Athletics since his days
on the court as a member of the College’s
first basketball team.
The run to the championship game was no less
inspiring for another Cabrini basketball star, Tim
Anderlonis ’00, whose teams in the late 1990s
advanced to the NCAA tournament. Both he
and his wife Mary had spent the better part
of 2011 and 2012 in Afghanistan with the U.S.
Marine Corps before Mary returned home to
North Carolina just in time for them to watch
Cabrini win in the Final Four on d3hoops.com.
They decided they had to make the nearly sixhour trip to Virginia to cheer on Cabrini in the
championship game.
“Seeing alumni and current students in the
stands and knowing what it meant to everyone
who had ever worn a Cabrini jersey made it very
exciting,” said Anderlonis, who was elected into
the Cabrini Athletic Hall of Fame in 2011.
That same excitement clearly radiated with parents
of the players, like Greg Williams, father of Cabrini
guard, A.J. Williams, as well.
“To think back to how A.J. has been privileged that
the coaches selected him to be on the team and to
see the achievement of him and his team, it is like
me being a kid again, all the emotions that go along
with that journey,” said Williams, who has been to
about 80 games at Cabrini during his son’s career.
In addition to sports achievement, part of that
journey includes academic achievement. Nerney is
convinced that the win on the court will reflect on
the College’s main mission: education.
“Success in athletics brings recognition to a college
and establishes it to a larger audience,” he said. “It
gives people a sense of pride that Cabrini is known
and means something. That is important.”

The 2011−12 fiscal year was a year of new additions,
milestones, and, I would venture to say, extraordinary
school spirit for the Cabrini College Alumni Association.
We welcomed new staff into the Alumni Office,
introduced popular programs and events, elected new
officers and directors to the Alumni Board, honored
accomplished alumni, celebrated a historic basketball
season, and commemorated the 50th Anniversary of the
Cabrini College Alumni Association. In total, more than
1,070 alumni participated in an alumni event or program
last year, resulting in a 65 percent increase in alumni
participation since 2010. Do we have school spirit? Yes,
we do!
As Cabrini alumni, we live our school spirit each and
every day. Last year, alumni showed their school spirit in
numerous ways—from making a financial contribution
to the Cabrini Annual Fund, to serving on a volunteer
committee, to cheering in the stands or at home for our
student-athletes, to attending an alumni and friends
event, to telling a prospective student about our Cabrini
experience, to simply picking up the phone to maintain
a close Cabrini connection with friends or faculty. The
unique “Education of the Heart” we received as Cabrini
students changed and connected us, giving each of us the
unique advantage of knowing how to roll up our sleeves
and make a positive impact.
With more than 12,000 Cabrini alumni making a
difference in their personal and professional lives around
the world, we can certainly, together, continue to make
a positive impact in the life of our alma mater. The
2011−12 Annual Report highlights the many alumni,
staff, faculty, and friends who rallied together to show
their extraordinary support of Cabrini in the past fiscal
year. You, too, can help to make something extraordinary
happen in the upcoming year and show your school
spirit. Attend an event, “like” the Cabrini College Alumni
Office on Facebook, volunteer, stay connected, and make
a gift that is personally meaningful to you in support of

Alumni Scholarship Makes a Difference
for Students and Alumni
Through the generosity of Cabrini College alumni, the Alumni Scholarship—established five
years ago—annually provides $1,000 to two deserving students who are rising juniors.
Students must demonstrate academic excellence, leadership abilities and a commitment to
social justice through service to the community.
“I donate to the scholarship fund because it is important to help students who otherwise
might not be able to finish their education at Cabrini,” says Fran Carusi Brooks ’82, a member
of the Alumni Board in 2007 when it initiated the scholarship. “I want students to be able to
enjoy their four years at Cabrini without worrying about how they are going to come up with
the funds to do so.”
The Alumni Office collects applications for the scholarship, which are then shared with the
Alumni Scholarship Committee of the Alumni Board for review. The committee invites 10
candidates with promising applications to in-person interviews on campus, and from those,
selects the final two candidates to be awarded the scholarship. The recipients also are invited
to participate on the Alumni Board during their junior year at Cabrini.
“My support of the Alumni Scholarship has strengthened my relationship with the College,”
says John Gwiazdowski ’99, G’02, a member of the Scholarship Committee. “What I have
experienced in these interviews over the past two years reinforces the notion about the type
of students at Cabrini.”
The Alumni Board raises funds for the scholarship through annual events such as Team
Trivia and the Commencement Flower Sale.
Gerry McGettigan Woods ’68, who served two terms on the Alumni Board and the
Scholarship Committee, says that the scholarship not only showcases student achievement,
but also highlights the impact the College has on its students.
“I had a unique opportunity to learn more about Cabrini College through the eyes of these
applicants,” Woods says. “During the essay process, I was able to better understand the
type of student Cabrini College is nurturing—the type who grabs the opportunity to ‘Do
Something Extraordinary.’”

Class of 2012 Leaves Cabrini with a Gift
More than 100 members of the Class of 2012 and their families joined together in a
show of support for Cabrini College by raising more than $2,500 for the Senior Class
Gift. Presented annually by the Class Officers and Gift Committee to the College, this
year’s gift supported the Cabrini Annual Fund, which provides much needed funding for
student financial assistance and scholarships. Those in the Class of 2012 were able to
contribute to the fund in a variety of ways —as were their families, many of whom made
gifts in honor of their soon-to-be graduate. Congratulations to the Class of 2012 for their
exemplary leadership and generosity!

other campus events at Cabrini College
—after all, she is the mother of students
John ’11, G’13 and Katie ’13. But it wasn’t
until September 2011 that she found the
perfect opportunity to give back
to Cabrini.
Along with husband John, Cathy Solewin
joined the newly formed Parent Council,
comprised of enthusiastic parents whose
children are either current students or
alumni of Cabrini. Council members serve
as College ambassadors in a variety of
areas, including recruitment, outreach,
fundraising and career services.
“When you’re a parent, you’re just so
happy when your kids can find their way
in a positive direction, and I think Cabrini
helped them,” says Solewin, who notes
the family chose Cabrini for its close-knit
community and smaller size, allowing
John and Katie to be more involved on
campus. “I think it’s a great school that
has benefited my family, so if there’s a way
that we can give back, we want to.”
As a Council member, Solewin participated
in Cabrini’s Accepted Student Day in April,
where she shared her perspective of being
a Cabrini parent and offered advice to
parents of accepted students.
Solewin lives with her family in Allentown,
N.J. Though Solewin says her children joke
that she’s on campus “way too much,” she
doesn’t try to monitor them while she’s
volunteering at the College. For the most
part, John and Katie don’t see her walking
around campus because Solewin enjoys
the behind-the-scenes aspect of the Parent
Council—getting other parents involved,
brainstorming about resources for parents
and working with other departments for
volunteer opportunities.
“My kids have been at Cabrini for five years
now, and I want to do whatever needs to be
done to help this school,” she says.

Strengthening the
Cabrini Community
For Thomas Stretton Jr., Ed.D., assistant professor of
education and artistic director of Cabrini College Theatre, it’s
hard to define where academics stop and community begins.
“Cabrini plays a central role in my life,” he says of his
11 years as a faculty member. “Here I have wonderful
opportunities to teach education, English and theatre,
advise, and work with some absolutely sensational young
people in the theatre.”
The theatre responsibility was one he inherited in summer
2006, when he was asked to step in for the director who
was on leave. Six years later, Stretton is still directing.
In Stretton’s second year of directing, playwright Leigh
Fondakowski was invited to the College to attend a
staging of her play, “The Laramie Project.”
“She came and assessed the production with the cast and
staff. It was an exhilarating experience,” he says.
In fall 2009, the Theatre was invited to be one of 100
professional, semi-professional and academic theatres
to present simultaneously the world premiere of a
new play—“The Laramie Project—Ten Years Later (An
Epilogue).”
“That experience was an excellent one for the students
and the college community,” says Stretton.
Some would say Stretton gives enough through his time
and talent. He, on the other hand, digs deeper, and is a
regular donor to the college.
“I believe in its mission, and from my perspective, its
students and employees are wonderful people committed
to making each other’s lives and the world a better place.
What could be more important to support than such a
community?” he asks.

QUIANA VOLNEY STEPS UP TO ESTABLISH SCHOLARSHIP
Cabrini College students learn to help those in need—locally, globally and
even sitting in the desk next to them in class. Quiana Volney ’12, founder of
the Cabrini Steppers step team, recognized that some of her teammates were
struggling to cover the cost of tuition. She worked with step team advisor
Stephanie Reed, director of Student Diversity, and the Office of Institutional
Advancement to establish the Cabrini Steppers Scholarship. Nearly $400 in proceeds
from fundraising events, including the Second Annual Step Show this April, went toward
the scholarship. Volney and the team hope to raise $1,000 to give a one-time award to a
member of the team.

Throughout the 2011–12 year, more than 20 Cabrini students
served the College in fundraising roles as members of the
Phonathon team. Phonathon callers reach out to alumni,
parents, and friends of the College during the fall and spring
semesters, updating critical information such as email and home
addresses, as well as seeking support for the Cabrini Annual
Fund. Student callers also bring a bit of current-day Cabrini to
their conversations by updating donors about recent campus
activities and new programs. This year, Phonathon raised more
than $37,000 in gifts and pledges.

CABRINI ANNUAL FUND
The Cabrini Annual Fund provides essential support
each year to the College’s operations, laying a firm
foundation for vital student financial aid and other
student-oriented programs and initiatives. To make a

SCHOLARSHIPS
Annually Funded Named Scholarships
Donors may create a non-endowed scholarship,
named for themselves or to honor someone of their
choosing, which will be awarded to a student with
financial need each year in which funding is received.

Alumni Association Scholarship
Established by the Cabrini College Alumni
Association, this annual scholarship benefits rising
juniors with financial need who demonstrate academic
excellence, a commitment to community service,
and a dedication to the mission of Cabrini College.
Applications are required. Recipients are measured
against established criteria through careful selection
by the Alumni Board of Directors. Donors may specify
this scholarship when mailing their gifts or donating
online. For questions, email Rachel McCarter in the
Alumni Office at [email protected].
Endowed Named Scholarship
Endowed scholarships provide financial support in
perpetuity to students with financial need. These
scholarships may be structured to support students
in a specific program or customized to meet other
donor preferred criteria. To explore the ways in which
a scholarship may be created, contact Jean Jacobson

ATHLETICS
Gifts to support Cabrini’s athletic programs may be
designated for a specific sport or program. Additionally,
sponsorship opportunities such as signage at games
and listings in programs are available. For questions,

PLANNED GIFTS
Naming Cabrini College as a beneficiary in your
will, insurance policy, or retirement account ensures
financial resources for Cabrini students far into the
