Frequently Asked Question?
Open Day Questions
Answer
When is the open day at our campus?
What will occur on this open day?
Can we officially enroll and apply for
VET-FEE before the open day?
Melbourne – November 24th (Sunday)
Sydney – November 30th (Saturday)
An information presentation will be delivered to potential students and their parents.
The students will have the opportunity to meet the high performance coaching staff,
program coordinators and trainers. A facility tour will also take place (Sydney; Nation
Centre of Indigenous Excellence, Melbourne: Melbourne University Sports Centre)
followed by a Q&A session where parents and students will be able to discuss the course
outline/details with the entire design and administration team. The athletes will also be
put through a series of screening and physical performance tests.
Yes. Once FC11 have received an Expression of Interest Form, program coordinators will
contact potential student and have them complete an official Application Form which
contains information about playing history and ambitions (career / football / education).
Upon evaluation of the application form, select students will be mailed an official Letter
of Offer. Upon acceptance of a position within the program, students can enroll and
apply for VET-FEE funding electronically or at the Melbourne FC11 Office. Those that
have been offered a position can enroll prior to, or at, the open day however positions
are limited to 40 athletes per location (Melbourne & Sydney). We strongly suggest
students electronically enroll as soon as they receive a Letter of Offer.
How much of the course is applied
training and how much is class-room
based learning?
2 hours per day will be dedicated to physical development (recovery sessions, football
sessions, strength and conditioning, wellness management, screening) and 4 hours a day
will be spent in a class room setting (inclusive of both theoretical and practical learning)
What kind of employment
opportunities will be available to a
graduate upon completion of the
course?
If you have a keen interest in sport there is a great chance there is something to suit
your skills, interests and abilities. The sports industry focuses on formal, organized
competition, run by various sports codes and governing organizations.. Here’s a list of
sport and recreation employment options:
Sport Manager: Sport Managers design and develop organizational structures and
management systems so that there is control over investment and sponsorships within a
given sport or department (i.e. FFA, BA, ARU, Tennis Australia)
Sport Administrator: An Administrator is involved with the operational aspect of an
organization and works across many different areas including day to day operations with
a sporting business.
Proudly Sponsored by:
Sport Event Manager: Event Managers are responsible for overseeing all aspects of an

Employment opportunities exist in community health, sporting events (fun runs,
fundraisers etc) and through private operators (indoor sport facilities, fitness programs).

operational level management, dealing with more technical issues such as repairs,
maintenance, security and cleaning.
Athlete Agent/Manager: Agents work to market an athlete or products that are related
to that athlete to promote the athlete’s career within his or her given sport. This means that the Agent is responsible for meeting with Team Owners, Managers, Coaches and
other individuals to promote the athlete.
Player Development Manager: A Player Development Manager works with athletes to
develop areas of their professional and personal lives, on and off the field. Their role
requires them to coordinate development programs and technical clinics, and to also
work with athletes to identify future pathways for them once their sporting career ends.

Administration Officer: Administration Officers handle the daily front-end
administration of the organisation. Duties include record keeping systems, customer
service, data entry, inventory control, report writing and staffing issues.

Sport Coach: Sport Coaches are responsible for player development, team-building, onfield strategies and team selection. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are
essential in order to be effective as a Coach.
Sport Retail Assistant: Working as a Sport Retail Assistant is an excellent way to begin
work within the sports industry, as jobs are often part-time or casual and can be
balanced with full-time study. There is also the potential to move into supervisor and
management roles.
Sport Retail Manager: A Sport Retail Manager is responsible for overseeing the
operations of a retail organisation, including finances, human resources, marketing, and
floor planning.
Note: The FC11 Welfare Department will be working one-on-one with each student at
several points throughout the year to establish realistic career pathways, including work
placement opportunities, CV development and establishment of a football specific
career network. By no means will FC11 graduate a student without the development of a
clear career pathway; whether that is employment in the above areas, a football career
or additional studies (see next question).

WESTERN AUSTRALIA
SFL ANNOUNCES DEAL WITH NIKE
The Western Australian State Futsal League or “SFL” as it’s
more commonly known continues to go from strength to
strength with the recent announcement of its partnership with
global sports leader, Nike.
Nike will be the official team wear supplier to all clubs of the
SFL, and as of July the league will be known as the “Nike State
Futsal League”.
Futsal Focus Ambassador, Cambio Cumbre player and recent
Middlesbrough Futsal Club signing Daniel “D10” Cappellaro, was available to speak about
the new and exciting relationship between global sports brand Nike and the SFL.
“I see this as another great step forward for the SFL and WA State Futsal Center. Nike joins
a list of great sponsors whom already support the league, such as Gatorade and Subway. Nike
is a household name when it comes to sport, and a relationship of this stature can only lead to
bigger and better things for Futsal in Western Australia. In my opinion, the exposure that
comes with an organisation like Nike will open up more opportunities to the league’s clubs
and its player’s”.
“Everyone is dying for a proper National Futsal League in Australia, a league that
encompasses home and away games, and that is inclusive of all states and territories. With
organisations like Nike now showing an interest in Futsal, here in Australia, I believe this is
one step closer to that ultimate goal”.
In the picture we see Daniel wearing NIKE FC and other Nike apparel, we asked why this is
and how does this affect his current sponsorship with Pele Sports.
“Pele Sports have been amazing over the last four years, and I can’t thank them enough.
From the time I joined them in 2010, the relationship I have had with the brand and its staff
here in Australia has been nothing short of amazing. This being said though, I’m no longer
one of the brands athletes. I’m currently not under any contract with any brand or supplier,
however due to my role as an ambassador I’ve chosen to wear Nike for the time being in
support of the WA State Futsal Centre, the WA State Futsal League and their future
promotions”.
“It’s nice to think that before I head to Middlesbrough, I will have the opportunity to play in
the new Nike State Futsal League”.

FUTSAL LEGEND ENRIQUE BONED GUILLOT "KIKE" RETIRES
The more you show tactical intelligence, the better. In an extremely fast sport like futsal you
have always to know what to do, this will hugely help your team mates as well. No doubts on
the fact that the ElPozo's captainKike is one of the "best working brains" ever seen on the
futsal stage. Experience and leadership, technique and garra: it's definitely hard to find a weak
point in the valencian machine.
Kike's futsal career began on the home courts of his native Valencia – "where we were
brought up on neighbourhood games, school competitions and Saturday mornings when we
would pray for it not to rain" – and would climax with an array of trophies almost unequalled
on the domestic and international fronts. Twice a FIFA Futsal World Cup winner and
runner-up, the defender also lifted an incredible five UEFA Futsal EURO titles, the last of
which he collected in 2012, when he was also named UEFA.com's Golden Player.
The Murcia FS captain's success has not only been limited to the national-team scene.
Domestically, he has claimed four Ligas, three Copas de España and three Spanish Super
Cups, along with a plethora of individual prizes.
