over a decade. In 2015,
we begin a new era as we moved
our event to the Byzantium Event
and Conference Center at
2747 Riva Road. This facility,
which is the home of the
GREEK FESTIVAL, features
more parking, more room
for an expanded event,
and easier access for our
guests. As always, we
have continued to provide
educational workshops
and seminars and feature

Although some of my clients are looking for the magazine cover, most of them are just tired of looking
at their old kitchen and want a quality job done at a reasonable price, with someone they can trust.
My name is Rick Taylor and I own and operate a very unique business. I remodel kitchens, but probably
not like anyone else you will come across. I have a four-year degree in Interior Design and have been
designing and remodeling kitchens since 1988.
Not only will I design your new kitchen, but I will build your custom cabinets and I will install them.
That’s right, by myself! And the best part, I’ll do it in about two weeks! I do all the work myself and
have no employees. I do have a team of very reliable subcontractors for things like plumbing, electric,
flooring and counter tops.
You will have a completely custom kitchen whose quality is second to none, the most personal service
possible and you get all of this at a price that is surprisingly competitive due to my extremely low overhead.

Your Spring Home Care Checklist

As the weather turns warmer, it is important to prepare your home for the hot summer months.
The cold winter meant many of us put off needed home repairs and maintenance, and now is the perfect time
to rectify the situation. If you want your home to be cool and comfortable when the summer weather arrives,
you need to get out and take care of these things now.
Spring is the perfect time to spruce up your home and get it
ready for all those summer gatherings. So take advantage of the
warm weather and longer days and get your home in shape.

Inspect your air conditioning system. If you
have central air, now is the perfect time to check
the system and make sure it is working as intended.
If not, call a certified AC technician and make the
necessary repairs.

Put your window AC units in place. If you
still rely on window units, put them in place and
check them carefully for damage. Check the filters and
change them if necessary, and be sure to seal up any
gaps between the window and the air conditioner.

Buy a programmable thermostat. A
programmable thermostat can cut your summer
cooling costs substantially. The thermostat can pay for
itself in the first year and keep saving you money year
after year.

Let your ceiling fans on summer mode.
Hopefully you reversed your ceiling fan for
winter use, so now is the time to put it back on
summer mode. This simple change will make the fan
more efficient and reduce the need for expensive air
conditioning.

Seal up the cracks. Check around your doors
and windows for cracks and seal up any you
find. Keeping the cool air inside will reduce your
power bills and make your home more comfortable.

Clean the windows. Opening the curtains and
pulling the blinds makes your home look airier
and more inviting, but no one likes looking through
dirty windows. Cleaning the windows inside and out is
a great way to spruce up your home and make it look
like new.

Check the driveway for cracks and
potholes. Winter salt residue, snow and
ice can lead to springtime potholes and cracks in
your driveway. Check the driveway carefully, identify
problem areas and get a good filler to fill in the cracks
and reseal the surface.

Check the deck. You will be spending a lot
of time on your deck now that the weather is
warmer, so you want to make sure it is still safe and
sturdy. Check the deck carefully and fix any problems
before the first summer barbecue. Spring is also the
perfect time to paint the deck or apply a new coat of
weatherproof stain.

Tune up your mower. Lawn mowing
season is dead ahead, so you need to make
sure your mower is up to the job. Check the blades
and have them sharpened if necessary. Make sure the
battery is in good shape and the mower starts without
incident. You will be glad you took the time to tune up

make sure they are ready to handle summer storms and

a real beating with the snow and ice of winter.
Check the roof carefully and look for loose and missing
shingles. Having the repairs done before the first
summer storm could save your roof.

Rent a pressure washer. A good pressure
washing can make the exterior of your home
look like new by washing away accumulated dirt and
grime. You can rent a pressure washer and do the work
yourself, or hire a professional to do the cleaning.
