Room 4— Zaylor Rae - Ready to learn. Room 5— Kimberley - Leading by example. Room 6 - Lily - Ready to learn. Room 7 — Koa - “Kia rite ki te ako” Flaxmere Primary School entered the 2015 Primary School’s Novice Gymnastic Festival on 17 June. Our girls did really well in their individual placings. All eight girls received either a very good or an excellence in their grading. They competed on the beam, vault and in a floor routine. Well done to Cleo, Manu, MacKenzie, Stormy, Saige, Imalah, Tabwa and Maata for representing our school so beautifully. Mrs Mills, Mrs Smith and the school are so proud of you! Room 8 - Amaia - Coping with disappointment. Room 9 - Cleo - Being positive - Kia Koa Room 11 - Akenehi - Te noho tika i nga wa katoa. Room 12 - Xaevia - Kia Ako - Using what he has learnt. Room 13 - Cody - Kia Ako - Asking when he is not sure what to do. Room 14 - Joseph - Making better choices about his work habits. Room 19 - Taratuti - Kia Ora - Making good choices. Room 20 - Nga - Settled into Room 20 very well. Here are a sample of our new sports uniforms. A huge thanks to whanau and staff that take their own time to coach and support our students in the many codes that we offer our kids. The behaviour on/off and in/out of the field, court and pool is always a feature of how we do things at Flaxmere Primary School. Room 21— Nevaeh - Trying hard at writing. Room 22 - Van - Awhina tatou ia tatou. Room 23 - Chalinge - Always tries hard. Room 24 - Manaaki - Whakatauiratia te mahi tika i nga wa katoa. Room 25 - Romgomai - Always does her best in all areas. TEXTING TO SCHOOL If your child is going to be absent - please text to 0221041866 with child’s name, room and reason why absent. Pursue excellence—should you stumble, let it be to a lofty mountain I had the pleasure of attending a few of our students sporting events last week, and what a striking picture they were in the new school sports uniforms. Our younger football team showed great emerging talent. Well done to all those that trialled for rep teams and great representation for Flaxmere Primary School. Raiden - On task and finishing work when Whāia te iti kahurangi ki te tūohu koe me he maunga teitei WHAT A GREAT LOOKING BUNCH OF KIDS Our Senior Football team , although still wearing the orginial football uniforms, played like absolute champs. The way in which they conducted themselves on the field and skill with which they played was fantastic. Loved seeing the perserverance and commitment with which they played. If Whanau are interested in entering a team, let the office know by Monday the 29th of June. Teams of 4 at a cost of $40.00 per team ($10.00 each) Prizes for first, second and their places, there will be raffled prizes between rounds and food available at the quiz. Once upon a time there was papa bear’s house in the jungle. One day Baby bear ran away from his big brother bear into the jungle. Mr Wolf jumped by baby bear, “Argh I’m scared” screamed baby bear. Mr Wolf said, “don’t be scared, be strong.” “Lets go to McDonalds” said the wolf. They went to McDonalds and Mr wolf took baby bear back home. KEIRA ROOM 1 GRACE KAYLA ELLYN SHONTAE TE REO KORI TOURNAMENT On Wednesday 24th June Rooms 2, 12, 7, 22, 4, 24, 11, 10 and 9 are going to the Bay City Outreach Centre, Omahu Rd to support and participate in the Te Reo Kori National Maori Hand Games Tournament. Cost—$2.00. Permission slips and money in by Tuesday 23 June. 1,2,3,4...Pukana!!! From the 29th June—1st July Pukana will be airing the episodes that were filmed with the tamariki in Rooms 11, 10 & 9 and our water bomb competitors from Rooms 9, 4 & 24. Tune into Maori TV on those dates to watch. INTER KURA TRADITIONAL MAORI GAMES 2015 On Thursday 25th June Room’s 4 and 24 will be attending the Sport Hawkes Bay lead project called “Inter Kura Traditional Maori Games” Leaving school at 9.30am, and returning by 1.30pm. ROADSAFE HB FLAXMERE School holiday sports programme. Ages 8-13yrs only, Flaxmere Village Green, at sealed courts by Waterworld. Monday 13th July to Friday 17th July. 10.00am - 12pm (midday) COST—FREE. Bring sneakers, comfortable clothes, a good attitude, cap or hat. Register—Forms in school office or Flaxmere Community Police Station. HARMONY Xzayquon - our Champion Calf Winner for 2015. Best at leading, grooming and all round excellent effort at Calf Club.
