NECKLACE & EARRINGS
BY ANNA SKIBSKA | $300
Anna Skibska studied at the
Academy of Art in Wroclaw,
Poland, in the Department of
Painting, graduating in1984.
Since then Skibska has presented
52 individual exhibitions all over
the world.
“I transform beads, gems,
semi-precious and precious
stones into necklaces. I juxtapose them with rubber,
leather, plastic, designing my jewelry following my mood…
my moods, my whims, commemorating the beauty of
everyday life. (Never done in the studio. Treated as a hobby
and done in the evening at home as a private fancy.)”

BABIO SERIES: INCALMO BLOWN
GLASS CHOKER
BY JULIE CONWAY| $280
Julie Conway, is the owner of
ILLUMINATA ART GLASS DESIGN LLC,
a studio of custom glassworks. Her
first molten blob of glass was formed
in 1997, from there, she never looked
back. Her international training with
glass masters influenced her use of
timeless skills incorporated with
modern designs for her art glass
lighting and jewelry collection.
Collaborating with architects,
designers, collectors and clients to
create extraordinary custom, lighted
glassworks is her specialty.
BLACK
For this creative artist, the
universe is indeed in the
details. The materials - simple
metals, glass beads, mineral
stones and crystal rhinestones
- are used to translate her
creative perceptions into
intricate patterns with a
thousand messages. Some
have tried to define Bar’s
style as Art Deco meets the Middle East, but the truth
is that her style cannot be categorized. Bar draws on
her experience as a costume jeweler, and her eclectic
career in theater and interior design. Today, Bar is a
mature designer, cognizant of the trends in the fashion
world, but always true to her inner vision.
JEWELRY BOX
Her passion for spontaneous and
elegant design comes from the nature
of molten glass and its properties to
refract and reflect light. The result is
orchestrated installations of light and
glass that can transport the viewer.
Conway operates a vibrant studio, in Seattle WA, where
she conducts highly talented teams of glassmakers and
fabricators to help her execute her commissions.

NECKLACE EDITION
BY LINDA MACNEIL | $2,100
“Linda MacNeil’s vision is singular,
bypassing many influences that
appear to dominate twentieth
-century studio jewelry. Her work is
extremely beautiful, concentrating
on form and color. Gold-plated
brass is combined with geometric
shapes of glass, which have been
cut or cast. There is a continuous
commitment to elegance and
decoration as her necklaces become socially involved
through her aesthetic language. MacNeil’s preferred
materials are not inherently precious, but become
precious as the rondelles of glass and carved elements
are set like elaborate stones in the metal.” Helen W. Drutt
English, essay “Linda’s Web” from United in Beauty: The
Jewelry and Collectors of Linda MacNeil.
MOG is currently curating the first retrospective of
MacNeil’s jewelry. Linda MacNeil: Jewels of Glass will
open January 21, 2017 and will be accompanied by
a significant publication of the same name.

PENROSE GLASS JEWELRY
BY RICKY BERNSTEIN | $400
“With delightful blends of color,
Penrose jewelry is fun, comfortable
and vibrantly colorful. Our glass
beaded jewelry is joyful to
wear and will encourage smiles
and compliments. What we
enjoy most about the process is
being surrounded by so many
amazing colors. Our designers try
to best enhance the inherent natural beauty of Ricky’s
hand blown glass beads, arranging colors into families
that reflect a distinct flavor. The “brights” – bold and
evocative…”Caribbean” – soft and tropical…or rich
and lustrous “goldstone”- rolled in a light gold dust. As
a compliment to our own hand made beads, we use
glass beads from Europe along with sterling and gold
vermeil findings. Your glass-beaded jewelry will bring
joy for many years.”

Davide Salvadore was born into a family of
glassworkers in Murano, Italy. At a very early age
he began following his grandfather into Murano’s
furnaces, learning how to build kilns and work glass.
In 1987 he founded his own studio, where he operates
kilns he built himself, mixing lamp-work and furnace
techniques in new ways. As a result of his ingenuity and
the inventiveness of his creations, Salvadore’s glass
design became instantly noteworthy, and he has since
worked at prestigious glasshouses and collaborated
with designers and artists across the globe.

“Over the past 40 years, I have
worked in many mediums: oil,
watercolor, ceramics, textile design,
interior design, and jewelry, only
discovering glass 10 years ago. I have
always been inspired by nature in my
art, but flowers and insects (bugs) are
truly my favorite. In my new Pate de
Verre pieces, I am trying to capture the beauty and
fragility of these objects. While gardening, hiking, and
walking, I am often overwhelmed by how beautiful
flowers and bugs can be, only to find it the next day
wilted, or “gone”. Pate de Verre is also, by nature,
VERY fragile needing extra care in handling. When
lighted properly the viewer can see how
delicate these pieces are... and hopefully
appreciate their beauty.”

BLURRED VISION PENDANT
BY JEAN SHAFFER | $269
Jean Shaffer is a
Washington native and
Seattle resident. In recent
years she radically changed
direction to become a
jewelry artist and metalsmith
after a long career in public
sector management. She
was driven by the need to
create with her hands and
transform her conceptual
vision into real-world objects.
Shaffer’s Chinook Indian heritage and years spent
hiking, beachcombing, and traveling throughout the
West have molded her artistic vision. Many of Shaffer’s
pieces speak to her connection to Northwest Coast
Indian artistic traditions, but with a contemporary
translation. Shaffer’s has earned a Certificate in
Jewelry Design from North Seattle College. In
2014, Shaffer was selected to exhibit her work at
Museum of Glass during Tacoma’s community-wide

ILLUSION NECKLACE 1
BY ALUCIK | $89
Encompassing evocative
design and modern vision,
Alucik is a line of wearable
art created by internationally
recognized Venezuelan light
artist, Claudia Bueno. While
experimenting in 2007 with
digital and aerospace engineering technologies to use
in largescale installation art,
Bueno discovered that
her intricate designs could be produced with incredible
accuracy on stainless steel sheets. What started as a
fun side project to make jewelry for family and friends,
evolved over seven years, while living on four continents, to eventually become a Made in USA product
based in her husband’s native state of California.
Pushing the limits of raw materials and technology,
her designs are given form. Alucik jewelry is then hand
assembled by a young team of local artists, musicians
and rock climbers. Bueno refers to Alucik as ‘concept
jewelry’, each limited design reflecting her artistic vision
in a unique blend of nature and culture.

to think of my glass work as an

RUTH FLORAL - JADE
BY CARRIE GRULA | $3,000
“The initial inspiration for my
artwork was an interest in the
aesthetics of the seventies. I was
drawn to the colors, patterns, and
furniture for this era. As my work
progressed, my focus shifted to an
interest in the geometric and floral
wall paper patterns and fabric
designs from this and other eras.
Even though the seventies isn’t the
primary focus of my research
anymore, the retro style still influences the overall designs
that I develop.”
Carrie Grula is based in Tacoma, WA. Originally from
Philadelphia, Grula started blowing glass at Bucks County
Community College and later Rochester Institute of
Technology. Upon earning her BFA in Glass from Alfred
University in 2007, Grula moved to Seattle to pursue a
career in glass and is currently a member of the Chihuly
Workshop team and is involved with Hilltop Artists’ Arts
Connect. You can find her works exhibited at Vetri Glass

a favorite. Fran’s Chocolates is a family-owned
Seattle-based company celebrating more than 30
years of creating artisan chocolates. In 2014,
headquarters moved from Capitol Hill to a landmark

There is even a room for tasting and chocolate

small-scale pieces in traditional

His study of the instruments of
master luthiers, as well as those of
contemporary makers, combined

AMETHYST & GREYSTONE “HAYSTACK”
BY JOSIE GLUCK & MICHAEL SCHUNKE
| $7,200
This is a one-of-a-kind
sculptural vessel from the
Josie Gluck and Michael
Schunke collaborative
series. Systematically
assembled and layered
glass patterns are blown,
and layered again. The
result is a deconstruction of
traditional repeated pattern
and symmetry. Josie Gluck’s and Michael Schunke’s
mutual interest in design and craftsmanship led to the
founding of their collaborative practice in 2011. Their
sculptural vessels balance simple form and complex
patterns that explore the intersection of chaos and
beauty. Gluck and Schunke also conceive and create
Vetro Vero designs, recently featured in Elle Decor,
Veranda and Architectural Digest magazines. Gluck
holds an MFA from The School of the Art Institute of
Chicago. Schunke, a former associate professor of the
Toyama City Institute of Glass Art, has work in museum
collections worldwide.

Shirley Klinghoffer’s artwork is very personal. It addresses
life situations – universal concerns – some of which hit close
to home. She often uses the human body, or parts of the
body, to convey an idea. She has consistently explored
the use of multiplicity of forms and sensual minimalism with
a variety of materials including tinted rubber, wax, plaster,
and resins.
“Provocative elements, dark humor, and machinery to
create movement have surfaced in my recent sculpture in addition to my core use of visual puns and irony.”

BREATH OF SNOWLAND
BY ERIKA TADA | $1,500
“My current work is about my
life, important events and
special moments of happiness I
have experienced. By having a
dialogue with my emotions and
expressing my pleasure, I can
reflect upon my relationship
with my family and friends, and
look back upon my history and
myself. I try to retain memories
and express the emotions I feel
at the time I receive precious things such as letters,
pictures and small objects. These memories and
objects of mine are protected and kept secretly and
importantly in containers. I can look into these objects
and be reminded of my childhood experiences and
travels. Viewers have their own personal memories and
experiences, and I hope my pieces cause nostalgia in
the viewer for what they have seen and experienced
in their own lives.”

GREEN GUM
BY DEBORAH CZERESKO
| $1,500
“This artwork is from a series inspired
by pieces of chewed and discarded
gum. They playfully and colorfully
explore glass as an inherently
seductive material. Making this
subject in glass tests the material’s
capacity to translate form
characterized by grotesqueness
and waste into something sensual
and beautiful. Even a thing which has been chewed and
discarded by the mouth, or stepped on by the shoe can
be rendered decorous when made in glass.”
