Boa Constrictor® Technique Diamondback™ Pedicle Screw Technique Diamondback™ Pedicle Screw Technique Boa Constrictor® Technique Diamondback™ Pedicle Screw Technique STEP 1: Transverse Connector __________________________________ Transverse connectors may be placed to connect rod segments together. They may be placed between adjacent rods to enhance torsional stability of the overall construct. Three different lengths are available. The middle screw should be loosened to allow for length adjustment. The outer two screws should be loos-‐ ened to the point that the end of the con-‐ nector snaps over the rod. Tighten the outer 2 screws with a torque limi@ng wrench and then @ghten the middle screw. Turn the wrench clockwise un@l a click is heard. (Fig. 1, 2, 3) Fig. 1 STEP 2: Closure ______________________________ Wound closure is then performed in the customary manner. Fig. 2 STEP 3: Revision/Removal Procedure _______________________________ Remove the transverse connector, fol-‐ lowed by the set screws then pedicle screws.
