Situated on 640 grassy acres in the rolling, wooded hills of
Wisconsin’s Kettle Moraine is Road America, an
internationally-known motorsports complex. With one of the
country’s longest road racing circuits, this world-acclaimed
facility has been hosting motorsports events and enthusiasts
since 1955.
But, more than just a day at the races, Road America offers a
wide range of opportunities for group events of all sizes. From
small events of four participants to massive events, we’re
confident in our ability to provide you with a program that fits
your budget while exceeding your expectations.

ROAD AMERICA FAST FACTS
1) Road America stock was first offered and sold in 1954 with ground breaking for Road America
in April of 1955. The first race took place in September of 1955. Road America is celebrating its
60th season in 2015.
2) Road America was founded by Mr. Clif Tufte, an engineer by trade. Clif is known
historically as “Mr. Road America” and is credited with the dream and vision of the original
configuration including the current site of the circuit.
3) Road America is a corporation with 500 plus stockholders and is guided by a 12 member
board of directors. Road America employs 22 full time staff. The seasonal payroll swells to over
400 during the height of the racing season, June thru August.
4) An independent economic impact survey was commissioned in 2000 by Road America and
performed by Lakeland College. Findings of this study show an annual conservative first tier
economic impact of Road America for Sheboygan County and State of Wisconsin of over
70 million dollars per year.
5) Road America is the fastest permanent road racing circuit in the world. Road America is 4.048
miles in length with 14 turns and multiple elevation changes. Road America is situated on
640 natural acres of rolling hills in Wisconsin’s Kettle Moraine and is known as
“America’s National Park of Speed”.
6) Each year from April through October, Road America entertains over 700,000 tourists in addition
to competitors at its site in Sheboygan County. Road America hosts over 400 events a year with
nine major race weekends.
7) Over the past 50 years, Road America has helped hundreds of local and Midwest charities
through donations and fundraising opportunities. For example, the Road America walk/run
event has generated over 2.5 million dollars for the American Cancer Society over the past
30 years.
8) 2010 marked the return of NASCAR to Road America when the NASCAR Nationwide Series made
its inaugural appearance at the famed 4 mile circuit. 100,000 people attended and 1.4 million
watched the event on television.
9) Road America’s newest initiative is to become an incentive destination for corporate events and
experiences - hosting group events from as small as 4 to as large as 1000.
10) Road America’s mission statement: To develop a year-round facility and programs that will
provide the best motorsport and entertainment experience for all of our customers”.

Road America is a 640-acre

The National Park of Speed Tour is a guided
tour of the entire Road America facility. Participants
are given general information about the facility’s
design and usage, and the events and activities it
hosts. This tour is a great addition to any Adventure
Program.
The Road America Motorplex is
a short combination paved and
dirt track used for karting,
supermoto and autocross.
The Behind the Scenes Tour explains the
infrastructure of Road America and what it takes to
host a large racing event. The group will visit the
VIP Tower which is the facility’s heart of race day
operations. Guests will view Race Control with its

Tours & Demonstrations
Center and VIP Hospitality Suites.
The Hayride Tour Explore the scenic grounds of
Road America from aboard a horse-drawn wagon.
This activity is perfect for groups that want to simply
relax and take it all in. The wagon can accommodate
25 adults on average and lasts approximately 1 hour.
Travel back in time for a ride that will add to your
fondest memories of Road America.
The In-Car/On-Track Tour allows participants
the opportunity to drive their own vehicles around RA’s
famous 4-mile road course on a guided tour. Learn the
track as you are introduced to some of the most famous
turns in motorsports. Subject to availability.
The Incident Protocol & Procedures Demo
introduces participants to the RA Safety/Rescue
Team and shows them a crash-scene simulation
where they learn how the incident response system
site, to race control management and safety team
action. The demonstration includes extracting a
driver from wreckage using modern vehicle extraction tools. This is a very interesting demonstration
which covers the entire safety process from A to Z.

The All-Access Paddock Tour is conducted in
conjunction with any major racing event. Depending on
the event, participants will see everything from
priceless vintage racecars to today’s most advanced two
or four wheel racing machines. This tour can be
combined with a short presentation from one of our

This technology-driven scavenger hunt is great for team-building. The object of the program is

Take in Road America’s scenic beauty and glacial terrain from an off road vehicle! This safe,
guided program is great for everyone, from first-time riders to experienced off-roaders.
Road America has seven off-road trails that vary in difficulty. The outing begins with basic
off road vehicle training, followed by range exercises. Emphasis is placed on the capabilities of
the machine, safe speed and operation. Once the basic exercises are complete, the trail rides
begin. Our experienced guides keep a careful eye on all of the riders to make sure they remain
comfortable with the increasing difficulty of each trail.

Our most popular program begins with a short meet-and-greet session followed by basic instruction
by our professional racing instructors. Instruction covers how to get in and out of the karts, how the
machine works and the proper line around the track. During the track tour, instructors explain
handling and braking techniques for each corner around the course. Once the tour is complete, the
participants are split into groups and sent out for on-track sessions utilizing karts capable of speeds
near 40mph. As groups progress through the program the track configuration changes and
participants transition to driving purpose built racing karts capable of speeds in excess of 50mph.

Experience karting in a budget-friendly large group format. Large groups have shorter sessions but
more team interaction. A timing and scoring system allows participants to compare their lap times
after each session. This great program can easily be set up with an emphasis on the fastest laps of

excitement of steering a speedy race kart
on a curvy road-racing track. It’s incredibly
fun and suitable for all skill levels, from
first-timers to repeat drivers.
Karting programs are held at the
Road America Motorplex, an on-site,
purpose-built karting track with flexible
course configurations and elevation changes.
The automatic karts are easy to operate and
achieve speeds of up to 50 mph! All helmets,
gloves, jackets and other safety apparel /
equipment are provided.

Nothing says excitement better than a trip down Road Americas dual racing zip line.
This incredible 1200 foot dual racing zip line allows participants to reach speeds over 40mph as they
descend over 90 feet of elevation. Anyone who is in good health and fits within the weight
requirements can experience the fast paced, high intensity adventure of one of the Midwest's most
exciting zip lines. Participants can zip as many times as they choose! We also offer a special challenge
for those competitive - How about high altitude bag toss to get your competitive juices flowing?

Experience a taste of our most popular group adventure programs. Participants use our geocaching
adventure program equipment to navigate throughout the facility. Built into this adventure program
are two pit stops, each treating participants to a fun and exciting Road America activity. These pit stops
include a karting challenge on the Road America Motorplex and the popular champagne slalom
activity where participants get to test their driving skills with one of our driving school vehicles. This
sampler program is sure to leave guests with a lasting impression and a desire to return very soon!

The Road America Driving Adventure is designed to hone driving skills with behind-the-wheel fun.
With an emphasis on defensive driving and a small side of racing technique, this corporate outing
leaves guests talking for years to come. Classroom time covers vehicle dynamics and common
mistakes people make while driving. Range time puts participants through various exercises
giving them first-hand knowledge of car control. A team relay race concludes the day’s events
with a graduation ceremony and parting gifts.

Take your driving to the next level with this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that will quench your
need for speed. This adventure program is completed using the Mazda Miata MX5, which is a
purpose-built race car. The program begins with a classroom discussion about driving techniques
and then moves to in-car lessons, which include braking, braking and turning and auto crossing.
The on-track portion of the experience includes lead-follows on RA’s world-class road course.
Learn the track, experience the race cars and improve your driving techniques by working with
our professional driving coaches.

Take a walk on the wild side! Popular racing stars like Tony Stewart and Kasey Kahne got their start
in these open wheel machines and here’s your chance to get behind the wheel of one. This adventure
program begins with a short classroom lesson followed by on track solo sessions. The on-track sessions
are completed in authentic sprint cars with all necessary safety gear being provided. The on track
sessions are sure to get your heart pumping as you navigate a 500 horsepower, open wheel sprint car
around one of our neighboring dirt tracks. This is the perfect way to hone car control skills all while
throwing a little dirt.

Everyone loves the Olympics and here’s the ultimate program to test your driving skills. All things
driving combined into one program that is sure to give participants plenty of smiles and laughter.
Groups are split into teams of four who join forces to compete against each other. High speed
driving skills are put to the test as teams participate in a karting relay race on the Road America
Motorplex. Hand and eye coordination are tested as groups also compete in a champagne slalom
activity using provided vehicles. Last, but not least, teams will compete in the blindfolded golf cart
relay race, which is always filled with excitement.

This program suits the complete novice and seasoned veteran. Instructors introduce the group to the sport
of motorcycling and focus on basic motorcycle-riding fundamentals. For the experienced riders, the coaches
have special skill challenges and will also offer a few tricks of the trade. The program is conducted off street
on our purpose built training range. Road America provides motorcycles and all gear needed. Program
content can easily be arranged for team competition.

Supermoto is a motorcycle sport that combines the techniques of traditional motocross racing with the
skills of professional road racing. Each supermoto bike is specially equipped with tires to handle on and
off-road riding. This program includes classroom time, on-course skill exercises and slow-speed activity
using motorcycles. The program alternates between the 0.9 mile paved road course, the
motocross-style dirt section and the motorcycle training range. Each rider participates at their own
comfort level. The instructors offer constant guidance, advice and feedback.

Just when you thought the drive in movie days were gone and forgotten! Let Road America entertain
your guests with a movie of your choice, viewable on a huge 28 foot screen. Listen to the sound projected
through large speakers at the base of the screen or through any FM car radio. Just sit back, relax,
remember the old times and treat yourself to some popcorn! Great for company picnics and large
gatherings, this event is sure to please.

Trap shooting is the most popular shotgun shooting sport in the United States with well over one-half
million active shooters. This adventure allows you to shoot clay targets thrown from a machine situated
in front of the shooters. There are five positions on the trap field which is laid out in an arc behind the
trap house. When a round of trap is shot, shooters are usually formed into squads with each shooter
taking five shots from each of the five positions on the field. A basic knowledge of firearms is required
for this adventure, but no trap shooting experience is necessary. This adventure includes the usage of
the trap facility and up to 75 targets per shooter. Shooters are responsible to bring their own firearms
and ammo. This adventure is a BLAST!

ultimate up-close-and-personal adventure. This is the perfect opportunity for individuals of any age to
experience firsthand one of the country’s premier road racing circuits.

The Road America Pit Stop Challenge brings all of the
energy and excitement of stock car racing straight to
your event. Challengers race against the clock in a
frantic effort to have the fastest tire change time, just
like a real pit crew, and it is a great addition to any
adventure program.
