presents FRIDAY, JUNE 15, 2007 A Great Father’s Day Gift!! Your choice of two great courses and C lub Country www.golfforacurenorth.com Welcome to Friday June 15, 2007 A Message From Our Premier Sponsor June 15, 2007 marks the date of the 5th annual Golf for a Cure Tournament. Inco has helped with this tournament in the past as a KEY Sponsor. CVRD Inco Ltd. would like to “up the ante” this year. We offered to be a Premier Sponsor of the event and asked the Golf for a Cure Committee if we could “PRESENT” the tournament this year. The committee agreed to this and here we are! This is a wonderful opportunity for all of us to work together towards raising the bar and making it a tournament record year and raising more money than we ever have to help fight a disease that touches us all. Let’s work together to achieve this! Remember Raising money to help fight cancer makes winners of us all! www.golfforacurenorth.com ... Agenda ... FOUR PERSON SCRAMBLE - $125.00 PER PERSON Here’s the plan for your exciting day of golf... and friendly competition! ALL MORNING Walden Driving Range (Free) 11:00 A.M. - 12:15 P.M. DINNER & AWARDS CEREMONY PAY TO ORDE THE R OF $ Golf & Country Club Friday , June 16, 20 40,000 00 06 www.golfforacurenorth.com OUR UNIQUE SCORING SYSTEM You can reduce your score before you hit your first ball! Take up the challenge! With Golf for a Cure's unique Pledge Scoring System, your score will be reduced by 1 (one) stroke for each $100.00 you obtain through pledges. Imagine being able to decrease your handicap in such a novel and useful way. There is no other way to get a lower score for your team before you even hit your first ball on Friday, June 15. But…the really important part is that pledges are what this tournament is all about. Why do we get together and share a good time at this event? Well it is for one paramount reason. We are here to raise money to provide the Canadian Cancer Society with more means to keep the fight going against cancer. Last year we had $14,500 in pledges! Now that is a great number! However, we will be trying our best to top that figure this year. We need your help to raise the bar on the pledge total. Collecting pledges helps your team's chances of getting on the winning track! For example, $2350 in pledges reduces your team score by 23.5 strokes - that was the best pledge reduction for a team in the 2006 tournament. THERE IS NO LIMIT. So, the challenge for teams in this year's event is to top the $2350 figure from last year!! We know you can do it! REMEMBER: YOUR PLEDGE IS ANOTHER WEDGE AGAINST CANCER 2006 PLEDGE CHAMPIONSHIP WINNERS + WINNERS OF A CHAMPIONSHIP PRIZE www.golfforacurenorth.com Prize Structure Our event has a variety of prizes for golfers to win - either individually, or as a team: The boodle bag is a $65 in value prize that all entrants receive. Hole prizes are won on an individual basis – for example l closest to the pin on designated hole – one person will win this prize l hole-in-one on designated hole – one person can win this prize Championship prizes are team prizes. They are available to winners at each of the golf courses as follows: l prize equal to $600 in value to: l the winning men’s team l the winning ladies’ team l the winning mixed team In other words, there will be a winning men’s team at the LGCC and at Sixth Avenue – each prize is of $600 in value. Ditto for ladies and mixed teams. These prizes are broken up into 4 x $150 in value prizes for the participants of each of the winning teams. The Pledge Champion prize is a team prize equal to $800 in value (4 x $200 in value). This goes to the team that collects the most money in pledges. To have a sense of fairness prevail, we have stipulated the following: The team and individual members of the team winning the Pledge Champion prize are eligible for all other prizes. This is our overall TOP PRIZE! Members of teams that win one of the team championship prizes are not eligible for normal hole prizes, but are eligible for a hole-in-one prize. Once an individual wins a hole prize, that individual is not eligible to receive any other prize. Other prizes may be available and will be distributed on a draw basis by the committee after the championship and hole prizes are awarded. www.golfforacurenorth.com SPONSORSHIP SELECTION GUIDE To become a sponsor, please complete the Sponsorship Opportunity Form as attached and fax to 705-670-1200 by May 26, 2007.
