My document camera image is blurry, what should I do? Focus Methods • Our doc cams have two kinds of focus: Manual and Auto Focus ring Auto Focus: press related button on control panel and/or remote control to adjust focus automatically Manual focus: rotate the focus ring clockwise or counter clockwise to adjust. Specifications Table Model CP130 CP150 CP135 Focus methods Manual How to use the auto focus (AF) How to the manual focus (MF) Is AF on by default when the doc cam is turned on? Reset this by spinning the focus ring clockwise until it feels tight with a two finger grasp and then spin the focus ring counterclockwise slightly. The image should gradually move back into focus. • For V355AF & SPC300: – Restart the doc cam by resetting the power. This can be done by either pressing the power button until the doc cam turns off or unplugging the power cord, then turning the doc cam back on again in the same manner. The document camera should focus automatically once it has warmed up. Alternative Solutions • Reset the focus to default and then press the AF Select MENUDEFAULT YES, then press AF to see if the focus works normally. If not, please hard reset the document camera: disconnect all cables from document camera (power cord, all VGA cables, USB cable and other cables). After 5 minutes, reconnected everything and turn the doc cam back on. • You can also use Manual Focus by pressing the focus+/- on remote control or through OSD menu. Friendly Reminders • The doc cam is an optical device with sensitive internal components that can be damaged due to carelessness. While our document cameras are designed to survive the rigors of classroom use, if they are severely impacted (such as being dropped from the table), they may cease functioning properly or responding to your commands. • Don’t put objects too close to the lens. The lens may not be able to focus on the object and the image will remain blurry. Please leave at least a 3cm gap between the lens and the object. • For objects that are extremely shiny or dark, it is not easy for the auto focus to render the image accurately. Please adjust the light conditions or use the manual focus.
