WHAT’S THE CHAMBER ALL ABOUT…
“Becoming active in the Chamber was one of the first things I did after arriving in Sedalia.
Not only does the Chamber support businesses in the community, it encourages people to
work together toward shared goals. Through programs like Leadership Sedalia and the Blue
Ribbon committees, our Chamber has been a catalyst for positive change.”
John M. Dawes, FACHE

“In my two years of being involved with the Chamber, I have found that being a member of the Sedalia Chamber of Commerce is all about opportunities. Opportunities to put a face to the name of our
business, opportunities to network with other Chamber members, opportunities to welcome new
businesses to the area, education opportunities through the Lunch and Learn programs as well as
speakers at the Chamber meetings, opportunities to participate in community events, opportunities
to be informed of what it going on in the community at the Chamber meetings, and opportunities to
promote our business in ways we wouldn’t otherwise. The Chamber of Commerce promotes tourism, cultivates the future through the Young Professionals Group, supports the military through their
relationship with Whiteman Air Force Base, and assists local businesses, whether the business is just
starting out or is an established business looking to grow. Membership in the Sedalia Chamber of
Commerce is an investment in the community as much as it is in your business.”

“Investing in my future and becoming a member of the Chamber was the immediate action I took when
I opened. I knew that my agency would need to have that name-face exposure and recognition that is
so important and the Chamber was the perfect starting place. Since joining, I have been amazed at the
support: Ribbon Cutting, After Hours, monthly breakfasts…the list goes on and on. Angie is wonderful
at introducing me to the public and letting Sedalia know that we are the newest and freshest face in
State Farm Insurance in Sedalia. We have a remarkable team of; Dena McFarland, Kristen Rogers, Ashley Cook and Jada Kreisel. We are all dedicated to serving our customers in Sedalia and the surrounding
communities. We look forward to becoming more involved in the Chamber and the opportunities to
expand our business that the Chamber affords.”
