In 2009 iDeal started out with an idea; the idea
of producing a fashion accessory combining a
wallet with mobile protection, simplifying everyday
life for people on the move. The following year we
launched our iDeal Wallet.
We still challenge ourselves every day in product

by hand from carefully selected materials and are

iDeal Of Sweden’s products are designed in
Sweden, a small country seen by population but
not by its achievements. Sweden is known for
its fashion, music and among other things, its
commitment to quality and high standards. We
think sustainably, almost fifty percent of our energy
coming from renewables for example. Sweden is
striving to ensure that the next generation can take
over a society in which the major environmental
problems have been solved. Sweden is also
famous for its snow-capped peaks, deep green
forests and stunning archipelagos.
Inspired by the latest fashions and trends, we
design our products here in Sweden. In product
development we challenge ourselves every day,
paying close attention to every small detail that
might make a big difference to the final product.
We also believe that design is not just about how
an item looks, it’s also about how it feels and
functions. We want to convey that feeling in our
products. We offer customers the opportunity to
create their own unique designs and collections

Premium PU also makes our premium products
affordable and great value for money. The material
is produced in the same country as our products,
minimizing carbon emissions from transportation.
No animals are harmed, whereas the origin of real
leather is hard to establish, the work environment
often being wretched and the humane handling
and slaughter of animals being difficult to ensure.

thinking, our curiosity driving us to search for new
solutions. We were the first in our market to launch

new and unique concept is a far more interesting
proposition, providing each product with added

packaging, each product appealing in its own right

The iDeal Concept provides our customers with

attempts to launch fashion-conscious wallets on
the market without success. However, this concept
merges the design element of the cases and the
functionality of the wallet into the optimal combination
for the style-conscious consumer.
Renewable product
As it isn’t possible to produce phone wallets
in attractive designs when it comes to adding
trendy colours and patterns we came up with this
fantastic idea: We make our slim phone cases with
a integrated ultra-thin metal that makes the cases
compatible with all of our magnetic wallets. We
had great demand for trendy phone cases and
many customers were asking for other cases to
their wallet than the standard black case which is
included. Taking inspiration from the latest fashion
reports we design our cases for every season.
This combination and the possibilities it provides
increase customer satisfaction, while users
of the iDeal Concept can also add or change
accessories over time, updating to the latest
wallet or the season’s trendiest case. This leads to
returning customers and endows both products

therefore place a great deal of focus and creativity
on the design of our packaging. Over half of all

conclude that packaging plays a decisive role in

transparency and show the customer as much of

to a high level of daily wear and tear. The material
provides a more attractive pricing structure than
premium leather, leading to increased sales.
Above all, this material allows us to act responsibly
toward the environment, protecting animal welfare
and avoiding the substandard working conditions
prevalent within the leather industry.
Why NOT leather?
Aside from the enormous suffering caused to
animals by the leather industry, it is also immensely
damaging to health and the environment. The
tannery industry is estimated to be one of the
most environmentally damaging in the world,
with enormous emissions of organic materials
and chemicals. Up to 130 different chemicals
are used in the tanning process and 80-85% of
all leather is tanned using chrome. Chrome can
cause asthma, bronchitis, lung inflammation
and cancer and workers are often financially
compelled to continue working despite the
scientific evidence pointing to early death. The
work is generally carried out without any form of

protective clothing, directly resulting in serious
skin ailments. It is almost impossible to identify
the origin of leather and it is often produced
under slave-like working conditions in which large
areas of rainforest are ravaged to provide grazing
land for animals far from the nearest settlement.
Abattoir workers often work under terrible and
enormously stressful conditions, which of course
has an effect on the treatment of animals. The
most serious environmental effect of tanning is
the high level of emissions and the contamination
of water sources. The effluent produced has high
concentrations of oxygen depleting substances,
particulate emissions, salts and heavy metals.
Waterways in the vicinity of the industry are
polluted, eradicating local livestock. As a direct
result of the leather industry the human inhabitants
of these areas have difficulty in gaining access to
clean water. Despite this, in 2015 Europe is the
world’s leading importer of leather. It is high time
to make a change.
