2011 Maintenance Technical reward and
career Scholarship (Maintenance tracs)
The NBAA Maintenance Committee is dedicated to promoting technical education and training as a means for business aviation maintenance technicians to enhance their careers. To support this position, NBAA offers current and
aspiring maintenance technicians the opportunity to receive Maintenance Technical Reward and Career Scholarships
(Maintenance TRACS) – which include aircraft, engine and avionics training awards – in conjunction with the following sponsors: Bell Helicopters, Bombardier Aerospace, CAE/SimuFlite, Cessna Aircraft, Dassault Falcon Jet, Embraer
CAE Training Solutions, GE Aviation, Global Jet Services, Inc., Gulfstream Aerospace Corp., Hawker Beechcraft Corp.,
Honeywell Inc., Rolls-Royce, Inc. and Williams International.
Awards will be made to U.S. citizens or permanent residents without regards to sex, race, religion or national origin.
Recipients will be announced at the NBAA 26th Annual Maintenance Management Conference, to be held April 5 to
7, 2011, in San Diego, CA. Maintenance TRACS awards will be redeemable under the conditions established by NBAA
and its sponsors, and applicants are limited to receiving one award per person every other year; i.e., recipients of the
2010 scholarship are not eligible to apply in 2011, but they will be eligible to apply again in 2012.
Recipients must complete all professional/educational training and redeem the award within one year from the date
of announcement, unless otherwise noted, or risk forfeit of the award. Recipients also are responsible for costs associated with the scholarship, such as travel and lodging expenses, unless otherwise noted.
Maintenance TRACS is one of several scholarship programs offered by NBAA to promote professional development
and business aviation careers. For all NBAA scholarships, applicants are limited to receiving one award per person,

Scholarship Awards
Sponsors will make the following scholarship awards available to recipients selected by the NBAA Maintenance
Committee. Applicants should research each award to determine its potential in meeting their personal career goals.
Rank all awards below in order of preference, starting with “1” as your preferred choice. Indicate only one number
per award, and indicate “N/A” for awards that are not desired. Awards are to be accepted as specified below, and
attempts to exchange awards for options not offered may disqualify the recipient.

Application Requirements
1.Applicant must be U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
2.Applicant either must be: (1) a current holder of an airframe and powerplant (A&P) certificate currently employed
in general aviation or (2) a student currently enrolled in either an accredited A&P program or an approved FAR Part
147 school.
3.Fill out this application form in its entirety and sign it. You must type or print your name on every page and rank
scholarships in order of preference for the application form to be considered complete.
4.Submit a 250-word, typed, double-spaced essay describing your interest in and goals for a career in the business
aviation maintenance field. Your typed name must appear at the top of the page.
5.Submit a current one-page resume with permanent home address.
6.Submit a letter of recommendation from a supervisor, faculty member or other individual who is familiar with your
capabilities. A recommendation from an NBAA Member Company Representative is encouraged but not required.
7.For students, submit proof of enrollment, such as an official transcript.
8.Completed application package, which includes this form, one essay, one resume, one letter of recommendation
and (for students) one transcript, must be received by NBAA no later than February 11, 2011, to be considered for
the scholarship.
