EMERSON BLAIR HEADS TO AUGUSTA
Emerson Blair, 9, won fi rst place in the 7-9 year old girls’
division in the regional fi nals of the Drive, Chip & Putt
Competition held Sunday, September 13th at the Golf Club of
Houston. With the win, she will be one of 10 competitors in her
age group to move on to the national championships, which will
be held April 3, 2016, the Sunday before the Masters, at Augusta
National Golf Club. She previously placed fi rst at the local
qualifier held at Reunion Golf and Country Club in Madison, MS
and fi nished second at the sub-regional held at TPC of Louisiana
in New Orleans, LA. The Drive, Chip & Putt Championship is
sponsored by the United States Golf Association, the Masters
Tournament and the PGA of America.

BRYAN CUP QUALIFYING
The John Bryan Sr. Cup will take place November 7-8 at old Waverly Golf Club.
This MGA team event brings the best amateurs in the state to Old Waverly to
test their skills and compete for their home club. Old Waverly will be having an
open qualifying for this event for 2 spots. In order to be a part of the qualifying,
you simply have to play the GOLD tee markers. Someone must attest your score.
We will take the low 2 scores from each qualifier. Those players that are exempt
are Club Champion, David Allen, and last year’s low amateurs on the Waverly
team, Richard Reed and Chris Mills. Please call the golf shop if you have any

It has been a great year for junior golf at Old Waverly.
Over 45 future champions participated in our junior series
program. To the right you will fi nd the top three in each
age group. Our season fi nale will be held October 11th with
golf and prizes for all of the hard work. Congratulations and

FLEISHHACKER JUNIOR GOLF COTTAGE
We had another exciting and successful month at the Fleishhacker Junior Golf Cottage! Junior golfers from Jackson,
Madison, Yazoo City, Amory, and New Orleans came for a visit and learned how to “better their process”. These juniors
learned the importance of goal setting and forming a process for achieving those goals.
We also had a Girls’ Camp the last week of September. They learned how to practice more efficiently and effectively. The
campers brought lots of enthusiasm and everyone had a great time!
We will have a couple of more camps this fall. So, be sure to talk to VJ and Tim about signing up your junior golfer for
a great learning experience in a great environment!

Holiday Shopping in the Golf Shop
As football season is in full force and fall weather is around the corner, make
plans to start shopping early for all of your holiday gifts. We will be having specials
on selected items on November 27th in preparation for the Egg Bowl. Our Annual
Christmas Open House will be held December 12th. Be sure to check out new
offerings from Drake, Peter Millar, and Zero Restriction.

Lodging at Old Waverly is available 7 days a week - whether for the business client or a personal get-away. The Lodge
hours are 8:00 until 5:00 Monday through Friday and 8:00-3:00 on Saturday and Sunday. Fall is a great time to come stay
