This week is ‘National Holiday’ in China. The whole country will have a holiday and most businesses will be
shut down from Oct1st to Oct7th. But this does not apply for the flower businesses. It is the busiest week
for the weddings in the year. A lot of products are very popular to use for these festive occasions. For sure
we have to think about Hydrangea, especially in white, pink and the red. Hydrangea is very suited to use,
because this flower has a big and round head which is synonymous with “togetherness” and “happiness”
for Chinese people. However, the prices will rise extremely high for those colors, since the availability of
fresh Hydrangea is getting less and less compared to Classic varieties. Certainly, we will keep you informed
for the coming weeks about this! Enjoy your week!

AMARANTHUS
Amaranthus is also referred to as Cattail. The
name refers to the paniculate flower bundles.
They are available as hanging and standing versions, with panicules in crimson, light green or
dark purple. The flower never fades out and is
therefore a symbol of immortality.
The field grown Lily season is almost over, and
we see the price rising for the heavier greenhouse grown lilies. The 2 + and 3 + segment is
only grown in the greenhouse, so here there is
little change in terms of available numbers.
As from now what supply will increase in numbers, is Amaryllis. This week for example, I see
the supply increasing of 10 different growers.
Amaryllis is a really good sellable autumn / winter product. The numbers of Amaryllis that we
currently already provide are pretty high. Mainly
the salmon and orange varieties to America,
red and white varieties to China, and the whole
range to Russia.

Love.
Pincushion Nutan Soleil has a very striking appearance,
which is being strenghtened by the deep orange color and
shape of Lovely Anthurium Pure Orange.
The nice Lovely Anthurium Exciting Love Antique matches
wonderfully with Classic Hydrangea Green Burgundy, as
you can see on the picture. Be creative and use the shape of
Anthurium to create interesting floral decorations. For example this flower shape, by using Chrysanthemum Kiev Dark.
