Seed Corn Husker Vibratory Feed Pan: Creating even product distribution. - Vibratory feed pan with sloped center divider. - Double eccentric drive with 1/2" stroke (Single on model 404). - Rubber bushed aluminum support arms. - Special "W" design transition chute, between metering vibrator pan and husker rolls. - Clamped pivot for raising pan, allows for easy access to roll and drive arrangement. - Fixed speed motor with vari-speed sheave drives eccentric shaft. Husker Bed: For husk removal. - Husker roll bed consisting of 4, 8, 12 or 16 lanes of steel shafts and agitators. - Standard husker roll configuration consisting of High Profile Roll with Steel Rib. - Guard assembly mounted above husker rolls. - Hood covering rolls and drive manually raised by hand crank. - Bed angle set at 40-110 through manual adjustment. - Easy Hand Wheel Bed Tilt System with Inclination Indicator. - Energy and maintenance saving belt drive system. Options: - Primary Hopper & Support Frame. Hopper used for corn surge after tilt belt & prior to metering belt. Also includes support structure for mounting of primary hopper to metering belt frame. - Customer specified height riser support stand. - Adjustable Infeed / Multiple Position Delivery System. - Perforated kernel remover (only available without the Adjustable Infeed). To remove kernels of corn and small trash from unhusked corn. - Two or Four Point Manual Lubrication System for Husker Bed to grease roll shaft bearings. - Trabon Sequential Auto Lube System: First Unit, which includes central air operated pump with PLC controls, all fittings at lube points and all interconnecting hose. Requires one unit for every six huskers to grease shafts only. - Full Auto Lube System. - Motorized Husking Bed Tilt System (not available on model 404). - Variable Frequency Controller for roller speed control. - Customer specified roll setup (to replace standard setup) . - Capped, shielded and sealed bearings. - Spring loaded wedge self tension kit. Application: Seed Corn is brought in from the field where the Hughes Husker performs the task of efficiently removing the husk from the ear as well as any field trash. The husk free ear is then discharged from the husking bed for further processing. - Hydraulic Cover Lift System. Operation: Corn is fed into the infeed hopper through the use of a metering tilt belt. The infeed hopper feeds a metering conveyor that supplies a controlled flow of corn to the vibratory feed pan. The vibratory feed pan creates an evenly distributed flow of corn onto the husking bed. The husking bed is comprised of a number of lanes that consist of two shafts rotating against each other. Attached to these shafts are a variety of rolls that grab the husk and remove it from the ear. The husked ear travels to the end of the bed where it is conveyed away. 1200 West James Street, Columbus,WI 53925 Phone: (920) 623-2000 ~ (866) 535-9303 Fax: (920) 623-4098 E-Mail: [email protected] www.hughesequipment.com Hughes Equipment Company, LLC. whose policy is to continuously improve its products, reserves the right to discontinue or change specifications, models or designs without notice and without incurring obligation. This innovative feeder allows customers to control how far down the husking bed the ears are initially exposed to the husking rolls. The further down the ears are fed onto the bed, the less number of rolls the product is exposed to during the husking process. This both reduces shelling and results in a longer roll life. Hughes Equipment Company’s two or four point lubrication system allows multiple lines on the Husker to be lubricated simultaneously through the use of a single grease fitting. A single distribution block is located on each of the four corners of the Husker (only two blocks for model 404 or 804) . These blocks save time by allowing one grease point to be used for multiple lines. To further reduce labor costs, an automatic lubrication system can be added to the setup to lubricate the shafts. A fully automated lube system is also available. As the ears pass over the grate, loose kernel corn and small trash passes through the rods to be collected while unhusked ears continue onto the feeder pan for husking. D4423230 HR PATENT NO. 5,451,184 Roll Options: Efficient Drive System: Hughes’ varied roll offerings are constructed using abrasion resistant rubber or polyurethane. Options include the Maxi, High Profile with steel rib and the Spiral with steel rib. Rolls are available in a variety of 1½” and 1¾” bore sizes and lengths. Hughes’ cog-belt drive system eliminates the excess maintenance associated with competitors’ gear box drive systems. This design not only gives the customer more efficient use of horsepower, by not losing power through gearboxes, but also creates a stronger drive which requires no tear down maintenance at season’s end. Maxi Roll Features for Seed Corn - Deep grooved auger channel removes high volumes of trash. - Interlocking cutting ribs reduce roll burning from stand up ears. - Aggressive setup allows for maximum husking efficiency, resulting in fewer recycled ears.
