Work Instructions WI-58 Logistics Services Inc. – Flat Rock, MI Kitting Seatbelts Version: 1.2 Date: 05/10/2007 Subject: This work instruction describes the process for kitting Seatbelts. Equipment: 1) Safety Glasses 2) Green Safety Vest 3) Pen 4) Clipboard 5) Commit Sheet 6) Build Tally Sheet General Requirements: See Standardized Work Instruction SW-01 Cell Operator Special Requirements: • 1st Piece Inspection Form(s): The general guidelines as illustrated on the form must be followed Kitting Procedure: Seatbelts Pictures 1) Check with supervisor on what and how many seatbelts need to be kitted for the shift. LH/Front 2) Obtain proper seatbelts to make kit. See sheet posted in area at table with seatbelts for individual part numbers. 3) For all Mustang pallets, before picking a part out of a container, verify a 1st Piece Inspection has been done. If it has not, verify the container has been placed in the proper spot and place a “1st Piece Inspection Form” in container. (See 1st Piece Work Instructions) Note: Mustang seatbelts come on solid LH/Rear pallets and are green colored totes. 4) Kit belts with all part labels facing up in tote. See Figures 1-4. Center 5) Palletize all like kitted totes. 6) Transport full pallets to sequencing area. See Figure 5. Figure 1: Sedan tote 7) All parts are stacked 10 high, 6 columns; except R which is 7 high. LH/Front 8) Stack empty part totes onto pallets 7 high. When complete place pallet cover on top for hi-lo to transport. 9) Sort pallets of Mazda belts as necessary. 10) For all Mazda seatbelts, before picking a part out of a container, verify a 1st Piece Inspection has been done. If it has not, verify the container has been placed in the proper spot and place a “1st Piece Inspection Form” in container. (See 1st Piece Work Instructions) Note: Mazda arrives on mixed pallets in blue totes. 1st Piece Inspection must be done for each tote stocked into cell. Figure 2: Wagon tote 11) Record each tote built on the “Seatbelt Kitting Tally Sheet.” Be sure to mark the type of kit and in what time period each was built. The sheet is to be given to supervisor at the end of each shift. 12) Notify hi-lo driver if parts are needed from overflow stock area. 13) Maintain clean work area.
