CIR PINDO MOUNTAIN
WATERFALL OF ÉZARO
Interpretation
Institute (CIR) about
the Pindo Mountain and
the Ézaro Waterfall
This is an ideal route to know the pleasures of the
Ézaro waterfall. The Xallas River also known as Ézaro
River is the only one river in Spain that flows into the
sea as a waterfall.
You can enjoy its hypnotism every days , 365 days per
year, during 24 hours. Moreover, in summer (from 21
June to 21 September), the waterfall is illuminated,
every Saturdays and days before a holy day, from
22:30 to 23:30 hours.

RUTA 1 “THE WAY TO THE PEDRULLO CASTLE”
RUTA 2 “THE VIEWS OF THE ATLANTIC OCEAN ”
RUTA 3 “THE TRACES OF THE HISTORY”
Description
Description
Description
The itinerary starts in the Vadebois village (11 km
from Ézaro, in direction to Muros). Continuing the
markers, you´ll arrive in “Pedrullo”, where you can
see wall remains that surrounded the primitive structure. It´s here where Route nº1 and nº2 come together.
The route starts in a square near the church in O
Pindo (3,5km from Ézaro, in direction to Muros). This
way is the most complex route because it is narrower
and harder than the others. Near the starting point,
you´ll find some water mills that are abandoned, and
you´ll also find a cave where people have been taken
refuge while the Civil War.
This route starts in a small village, O Fieiro, located
after the Santa Uxía reservoir, shortly after the lookout point of Ézaro (4,5km from Ézaro, going up to the
lookout point).
After cover a small stretch, you´ll arrive in “Chan de
Lourenzo”, a place where you´ll fin the “Giant´s
Mine” and also the remains of a wolfram exploitation.
From this point, you´ll see the top of the mountain
known as “A Moa”.
Key points of this route: the “Pedrullo” where is located the “Saint George Castle”, the “Chan de
Lourenzo” where is the “Giant´s Mine” and also the
remains of an ancient wolfram exploitation.
This itinerary is the most comfortable and achievable
to gain access to the top of the Pindo Mountain.
You´ll ascend along a forest track until getting into
the stone trails. Behind you, is the “Peñafiel Castle” in
whose top finds the “Bed of Fertility”. There is a detour that goes to the “Xoana´s Cave”, which crosses
the mountain from one side to the other.
