This custom PRO Pumper from the Westminster, MA, Fire Department is built on the KME Predator chassis family. The XLFD Predator cab has a 16-inch
raised roof with extended space in the crew area for seating and equipment storage. The cab interior features five customized storage cabinets. The unit is
powered by a 450-hp Cummins ISL engine and features a 1,500-gpm Waterous pump. The speedlays are stored beneath the cab extension with pull-out
trays for quick deployment and simplified repacking without crawling up on the apparatus. The suctions and primary discharges are positioned beneath
the cab, away from the pump operator, to provide a safe working
zone. A Waterous Advantus 6 foam system provides both Class A
and Class B foam operations through the touch of one button. The
pump operator’s panel is in the driver-side front body compartment and features a diagrammatic panel for simplified operations.
The custom-designed tank offers 1,000 gallons of water, 30 gallons of Class A foam and 20 gallons of Class B foam, with both
foam cells having remote-fill capability from the pump-panel area.
The body is constructed of 3/16-inch aluminum with full-height/
full-depth compartments on the driver side and full-height/splitdepth compartments on the officer side. The apparatus provides
more than 480 cubic feet of enclosed storage capacity for equipment. All of these features come together on a maneuverable 189inch wheelbase with an apparatus overall length of 31 feet.

an Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) Strike Team Shoring Unit built by LDV on
a Peterbilt PB 348 chassis. The unit features a 300-hp Cummins PX-9 engine,

Oshkosh Airport Products Group has delivered its 1,000th
Oshkosh Striker aircraft rescue and firefighting (ARFF) vehicle.
Striker number 1,000 was placed into service at McCarran
International Airport in Las Vegas, NV. The vehicle features a
680-hp engine, TAK-4 independent suspension and a sevenspeed automatic transmission. Its firefighting systems include
a 3,000-gallon water tank, 420-gallon foam tank and a roof
turret and low-attack front-bumper turret. The vehicle also
features 460 pounds of halotron that is delivered through a
150-foot hose reel as well as a second hose reel in a lower
compartment for water and foam discharge.
