THE NEW G 55 AMG
WITH V8 SUPERCHARGED ENGINE
Legend
Newcomer
You won’t find many cars on the road today
(or indeed off-road) which can claim to have
made their debut in 1979 and been a permanent fixture ever since. For a car to achieve
such a record, it must, by definition, be capable
of demonstrating some pretty extraordinary
qualities – qualities such as reliability,
robustness and performance, which never go
out of fashion. No wonder, then, that the
Mercedes-Benz G-Class has become something
of a legend, achieving cult status long before
its 25th year of production.
You won’t find many cars on the road today
(or indeed off-road) that, 25 years on from
their debut, are still considered to be among
the leading lights in their segment. For a car
to achieve such a record it must have qualities which set it apart from the rest: stateof-the-art technology, brimming with innovations, for example, and a distinctive shape
which oozes character. The legend lives
on in the form of the new G 55 AMG with
a supercharged engine.

Powerful
50 journalists from 22 different countries
voted the AMG 5.5-litre V8 compressor
engine, with its 350-kW (476-hp) output and
700-Nm torque, the “Best Performance Engine
2003”. The jury described the engine as
“...extraordinarily powerful and at the
same time totally dependable... the performance of this astonishingly smooth and unbelievably powerful V8 engine is breathtaking.”*

Emotional
Rational
Like the exterior, the interior of the G 55 AMG
is a picture of exclusivity and high-class elegance. And, of course, there’s plenty of scope
to incorporate your own ideas. The wood trim
parts and the leather appointments come
from the designo range, with its distinctive,
high-quality hand-crafted finish. Choose
natural maple grain wood and designo sand
leather, as shown here, or other options
from the designo range to suit your own
personal taste.
The G-Class has a highly functional design
which helps you to stay relaxed, even on
longer drives. The raised seating position,
for example, provides a commanding view
of the vehicle and the surrounding traffic.
Electrically adjustable front seats with a
memory function, an automatic transmission
with Touchshift, a steering wheel which
adjusts automatically when you enter and
leave the vehicle, automatically dimming interior and exterior mirrors, Headlamp Assist
and a rain sensor, among other things, make
for a luxury feel you will savour.
Appealing to hearts
And minds
The G 55 AMG comes equipped with virtually
everything your heart could desire, and both
the exterior and interior tell you instantly that
this is a truly special vehicle. Inside, take
a look at the AMG instrument cluster with its
AMG logo and “V8 KOMPRESSOR” lettering,
the stainless steel AMG door sill panels with
their illuminated AMG logo and the selector
lever with a “G 55” badge. External features
include 18-inch AMG light-alloy wheels
with size 285/55 R 18 tyres, an AMG exhaust
system with side-fitted twin tailpipes,
a silver painted radiator grille and highquality trim strips.
