RIVIERA MAYA The Riviera Maya is a 72 mile stretch along the coast line located in the Yucatan Peninsula, State of Quintana Roo, Mexico. It is located 30 minutes south of Cancun’s International Airport and starts from Puerto Morelos all the way to Punta Allen, a small fishing village within the Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve. It’s the habitat for a rich variety of flora and fauna and geological formations that would be impossible to find anywhere else in the world lying hidden amid the intense green. Here are “the cenotes”, sweet-water deposits of capricious shapes and different sizes, produced by the subterranean rivers which emerged to the surface over the course of millions of years. Facing the Riviera Maya’s coast is the world’s second largest coral reef, making it the perfect place for scuba diving and snorkeling.
