Diamond Corporation and Bridal Wardrobe as a special
focus on the Bridal season for 2012.
Jenna & her family at Lynnwood Bridge
Jenna Clifford
Some of South Africa’s top bridal experts share their top
wedding tips, ideas and what the hottest trends are for
the 2012 wedding season.
A family business established in 1992, Jenna Clifford is a
unique South African jewellery brand, synonymous with
bespoke design and superior craftsmanship.
“Editor of Wedding Inspirations magazine, Nicole Allen
lists the top trends on her radar which includes the return
of more demure, elegant wedding dresses with sleeves,
lace and intricate detailing, as seen on Kate Middleton.
“Look out also for textured embellishments like feathers,
flowers and bows and interesting necklines, such as
Charlene Wittstock’s off-the-shoulder design” adds
Nicole.
Initially working exclusively from a design studio in
Morningside, Sandton, the company’s first clients became
enchanted with the brand and with Jenna Clifford herself.
Before designing, Clifford would ensure that each customer
was completely at home and comfortable before spending
time with them to create the perfect piece - every design
paying tribute to an individual’s tastes and in most cases,
spirituality.
Biji from Biji Couture says: “The current biggest trend
in weddings is personalisation. Couples are choosing
to make their weddings a true representation of their
personalities. This starts from venue choice and follows
through to everything from stationery to the choice of
the menu. Brides still dream about their ideal dresses
and couture offers the bride the opportunity to have a
completely customised gown that fits not only her figure,
but also her personality perfectly.”
Stefan Norval of Afresh Events says that “economising on
décor use and still making a big impact is the way to go
in 2012. Colours this season are mostly pastels, especially
yellow, pink and orange. Base colours are also showing
a shift towards grey, navy blue and other strong colours
rather than traditional whites and cream.”
All the experts agree that while vintage weddings may not
be new, they are likely to remain hugely popular in 2012
as they represent old-fashioned values and romance.
In terms of dresses this means that lace is the fabric of
choice, and colours lean towards ivories and creams.
Fascinators have taken over from tiaras as the headpiece
of choice, and as a result the birdcage veil has also seen
a revival.” (Source: www.theforum.co.za)
Lynnwood Bridge wants to wish all those couples tying
the knot this season all the very best for the planning and
the big day!

As the client list grew, so did the company, and in 2002
the first Jenna Clifford retail boutique was opened. Today,
each of the Jenna Clifford boutiques emulates the same
personalised concept and signature style as the original
Morningside Design Studio.
Jenna Clifford is a creator of locally produced bespoke and
ethical jewellery pieces, their diamonds and gemstones all
come from ethical sources and are guaranteed conflict-free.
Jenna Clifford creations are handmade and represent the
spirit and unique essence of each individual.
We spoke to Jenna Clifford to find out what she believes to be the most popular engagement and wedding ring trends
for 2012. “Wedding ring designs at Jenna Clifford this season incorporate vintage flair by way of antique engraving,
using contemporary metals – such as white gold and an array of diamonds. Hand carved floral wedding band designs
are regaining popularity with brides who appreciate the motifs and styles of wedding rings from long past eras. However,
many of these new twists on vintage wedding rings are incorporating colorful arrays of smaller gemstones to really give
the modern wedding ring that added custom appeal. Gemstones such as pink sapphire (a stratagem) are revered for their
energy which speaks to the heart chakra and I always like to include gemstones which have a unique energy property
into my designs.” Jenna states that utilizing a combination of precious gemstones, from vibrant pink tourmaline to blue
sapphires, jewellery designers are producing wedding rings that really embrace the appeal of much sought after art
deco style costume rings. “While these wedding rings are absolutely gorgeous to behold, some are concerned that their
fashion appeal is limited and could not be appropriate
a choice for a wedding ring that can be worn for years
to come. One must consider that a wedding ring is for
life and as such, the design and components of the ring
should be a very considered decision.”
The Jenna Clifford flagship jewellery boutique opened
in Lynnwood Bridge Retail in March 2012. “The concept
for the new store was inspired by elements of authentic
living”, says Jenna Clifford, Co-founder and Chief
Creative Officer for the brand. “We wanted our clients to
be able to visit us for coffee in a tranquil environment that
is not your average retail space. A five metre coffee bar
and outdoor lounge make this space somewhat different
and we’d like to think that our clients enjoy lingering
longer with us!”
Make sure to visit the new Jenna Clifford store in
Lynnwood Bridge, the store truly matched the grandeur
of the dazzling jewellery it hosts.

Louis & Daniel Paulus at Lynnwood Bridge
Louie Daniele
The story of Louie Daniele is quite unique. In 1998,
diamond cutting company, Diamond-Corp was founded
by Daniel Paulus. In 2003 it expanded into specialized
jewellery manufacturing and wholesale distribution. Soon
after, two brothers Louis and Daniel united and Diamond
Corporation, South Africa was birthed.
Largely, because of their passion for people, diamonds
and jewelry, LOUIE DANIELE brothers decided to open
their first public retail outlet in 2012 - LOUIE DANIELE
Diamond Store @ Lynnwood Bridge.
It is a dream of two brothers, Louis and Daniel, which
brings about this prominent jewellery brand. Louis,
zealous about diamonds and Daniel, amorous about
design is what initiated LOUIE DANIELE into existence.
Upon meeting these two brothers you will experience
their overwhelming passion for their craft.
We asked: Why Lynnwood Bridge?
“Although not entirely retail orientated in its operations,
Diamond Corporation, South Africa have been at the
forefront of trendsetting designs and ground breaking
technology.
With internationally acclaimed design custodian, Bheki
Ngema, the company simply had to reach beyond its
boundaries to share its Manifest, Passion and Dazzling
diamonds with a select audience. This led to the first
ever Louie Daniele Diamond Store at Lynnwood Bridge.
There is simply no better address to showcase some of
our continent’s rarest gems and jewels.”
