 Chyron Lyric Pro Installation Guide – Option #162 System Requirements Software Windows XP or Windows 7 Nvidia graphics card driver version 275.65 or later http://www.broadcastpix.com/downloads/Nvidia275.65.zip The graphics card display settings also need to be modified: Go to nVidia Control Panel -­‐> Manage 3D Settings -­‐> Program Settings Tab Click on Add (point to Lyric.exe) Set Antialiasing – Mode from Use Global Setting to Off Set Exported pixel types to None Click on Apply Hardware The Chyron software only works on the Granite or Mica systems with a dual graphics card. Systems with the quad card option may not use the Chyron software. If installing on a separate PC, it is recommended to use an Nvidia graphics card with at least 512 GB RAM. Using other makes may vary system performance. At least 2 GIG of system RAM recommended USB Security Dongle Note When purchased, the Chyron CG is used in place of the TitleMotion GS software. Both CG applications may used at the same time, is desired. If Fluent RapidCG is installed, then TitleMotion GS must be used at the creation tool to create CG templates for RapidCG. Chryon Lyric files only work on Broadcast Pix Mica or Granite Systems with the standard dual-­‐headed graphics card. Chyron CG -­‐ Installation Guide Page 1 Chyron Installation The following installation describes how to install the Chyron Lyric Pro Offline on the Broadcast Pix Server, as well as on a remote computer for a secondary graphics operator: 1.
Secure the Security dongle to an available USB port. On new units sent from Broadcast Pix this dongle is mounted internally on the motherboard. 2.

Insert the Chyron Installation CD-­‐ROM. This CD is located in the Accessories Box of the Broadcast Pix Server. Use Windows Explorer to view the contents of the installation CD and double click on the Lyrix_8.0.exe setup file, as shown below. 4.
The Chyron Lyric Setup screen will appear, as shown below. Please wait up to 1 minute for the installer to prepare. Once the Setup screen is ready, click on the Next button. Chyron CG -­‐ Installation Guide Page 2 Installation Continued 5. A Lyric 8.0 License Requirments pop up warning will appear. This warning is intended for stand-­‐
alone systems with previous versions (5.0 or later) installed, which is not the case in any Broadcast Pix installations. Click on the Yes button, as shown below. 6. 7. In the License Agreement Setup Screen, click on the Next button, as shown below. In the Choose Destination Location Setup Screen click on the Next button, as shown below, as the default location is the recommended folder location. In the Setup Type Setup Screen, click on the First Time User option in the setup type section and click on the Next button, as shown below. 9. The Select Program Folder Setup Screen, leave the default Program Folder names as Chyron and click on the Next button, as shown below. In the Lyric Shell Extension Installer Screen select the I accept the terms of the license agreement radio button, then click on the Next button, as shown below. In the Lyric Shell Extension Screen click on the Next button, as shown below, as the default folder location is the recommended destination. 13. In the Lyric Installation Setup Screen click on the Next button, as shown below, as the default folder location is the recommended destination. The Installation will start, once the Shell Extension is complete as RegSvr32 pop up screen will appear, click on the OK button, as shown below. This may take up to 5 minutes. 15. In the Chyron Lyric Shell Extension Screen, click on the Finish button, as shown below. 16. In the SentineLM Installation Welcome Screen, click on the Next button, as shown below. In Choose Destination Location Screen, click on the Next button, as shown below, as the default location is the recommended destination. 18. In Setup Complete Screen, click on the Finish button, as shown below. This may take up to 5 minutes. 19. The Chyron Diagnostic Utility Setup Wizard will appear, click on the Next button, as shown below. Chyron CG -­‐ Installation Guide Page 8 Installation Continued 20. In the Select Installation Folder Setup Screen, click on the Next button, as shown below, as the default location is the recommended destination. 21. In the Confirm Installtion Setup Screen, click on the Next button, as shown below. The Diagnostic Utilty will now being to install. This may take up to 5 minutes. 22. Once the installtion is completefor the diagnostics, the Installation Complete Screen will appear, click on the Close button, as shown below. Once all the above installations have been installed and completed, In Chyron Lyric Setup Screen, click on the Finish button, as shown below. You are now ready to start using the Chyron Lyric CG appilication. Note that when the Broadcast Pix application is launched, it will automatically launch the Chyron application. All static .lyr (Lyric files) can can be added to the CG, Still or Animation stores and will appear blue in Fluent View PixPad. All animated files need to be exported to the Animation stores as an image sequence or to the Clip store as a H.264 .mov file.
