Anti-Bullying Ambassadors News
On Wednesday 29th July, a number of students were host to a bake sale during break and lunchtime in
which many ambassadors brought in their own baked goods and took the time to open stall in the Main
Hall. In just a single day, we managed to raise £136.27 on cake sales alone, which will be contributed
towards the training for Anti-Bullying.
The pupils involved, as well as demonstrating compassion towards their fellow pupils in involving
themselves, are a vital asset to the academy in their good organisation, commitment and excellent manner
during the day. Students like these show an excellent example of what we wish the academy to be. You
have made Miss Geraghty extremely proud of you all :)
Thanks and credits go to the following students:
Ruby Dixon, Viktorija Ivanova, Nathan Plume, Tinishia Carter, Amy Fyson, Taylor Everitt, Caitlin
Hornigold, Daniel Pereira, Bruna Rodrigues, Victoria Caldwell, Andriy Nevdachin and Daniel Medeiros.
For their outstanding work on Wednesday in contributing and selling cakes on behalf of AB ambassadors.
There is no way we could've done this without their commitment and hard work.
Also:
Caitlin Lord, Adele Eke, Sasha Toop and Charlee Adair
For giving up their Wednesday breaktime, lunchtime and using period 6 to organise and make money for
the bake sale. They showed excellent leadership and great initiative to get as much money for their
training as possible. I'm so proud and impressed by their utter commitment to the cause.
MFL X Factor
On Thursday 30 June, all Y8 students were off timetable periods 5 and 6 as it was our annual MFL X
Factor afternoon. Since the beginning of the half term, students had been practising and were filmed in
either their Spanish lessons or one of their French lessons. They had to sing a song in the target language
and be filmed in order to show it to the rest of the year group, as well as to our four judges.
They all worked really hard and it was a challenge for the judges (Miss Backham, Mr Barker, Mr Brown
and Mr McNeil) to decide who the best group was. We also had the chance to have a special guest judge Simon Rowe from KLFM who spent the afternoon with us and said that it was “a fantastic opportunity” for
students.
The winners of our MFL X Factor 2016 are 8R French!
The competition was very close this year with only a couple of points separating the winning group to
the next three! All students were a credit to the Academy and made all of us in the MFL department very
proud teachers.
MFL Star of the Week:
Congratulations again to 8R French! Well done!
Star of the week in MFL this week:
Watch
this space for the new Y8 cohort next year!

GCSE & A Level results
GCE results will be available at 9am on Thursday 18th August and GCSE a week later on 25th August.
If a student cannot attend in person they can nominate someone to pick them up on their behalf. That
person will need to bring a note from the student giving the authority to collect their results. We will not
release results otherwise.
CWA Academy Trust Diploma Awards
We look forward to welcoming invited students and their guests on Tuesday, 12th July to the Corn
Exchange in King's Lynn for the first CWA Academy Trust Diploma Awards ceremony.
As invited guests who have responded to our RSVP, we have your registration for attending this event
already therefore it is not necessary to download a ticket to attend.
