Lower Southampton Township
Lower Southampton Township is located in lower Bucks County and encompasses 6.6 square
miles, bordered on the east by Bensalem Township, on the north by Northampton Township, on
the west by Upper Southampton Township and Lower Moreland Township (Montgomery County),
and on the south by the City of Philadelphia. Principal unincorporated communities within the
Township are Feasterville, Trevose Heights, and parts of Oakford and Trevose. Feasterville, the
approximate geographical center of the Township, is approximately 17 miles from center city
Philadelphia and approximately 14 miles from Trenton, New Jersey.
Until the late 1950's, the Township was primarily rural in character, at which time a transition in
land use from rural-agricultural to suburban and single family residential began. The Township
has evolved largely into a premier and desirable community.
