Speaking on:
John the Theologian in the
Maverick Gospel of John
showing how John’s Gospel derives from an oral tradition distinct
and different from the Synoptic traditions, and how John’s Gospel
is the primary source for four key Catholic doctrines: the identity
of Christ, the nature of the Trinity, the definition of the Eucharist
and the exaltation of Mary.
Dr. Alexander Burke’s BIO
Alexander Burke is a former book publishing
executive and a college and university professor.
He was president of the McGraw-Hill Book
Company when it was the largest book publisher
in the world. Dr. Burke founded and ran his
own publishing company, Phoenix Learning
Resources, from 1987-2004. He has a Master’s
degree in English and a doctorate in Theology,
both from Fordham University. He taught
English and Theology at Hofstra University
for 19 years and has taught Theology at the
Seminary of the Immaculate Conception for the
last 10 years. He is the author of three books:
a scholarly work on John’s Gospel, a biography
of John the Baptist, and a monograph on John
Henry Newman.
