The program committee, headed by President-Elect Ann Leung, MD in collaboration with Educational Committee Chair Jeff Kanne, MD, has designed an outstanding, comprehensive postgraduate radiology course in cardiothoracic imaging. The course will be preceded on Saturday, March 12, 2016 by a 1-day multi-disciplinary symposium, “Lung Cancer Screening: Requisites for a High-Quality Program.” Developed by co-directors Deni Aberle, MD, Caroline Chiles, MD, and David Lynch, MB, the symposium is designed to facilitate the ability of attendees to successfully set up and implement a multi-disciplinary screening program using a standardized, evidence-based approach. The annual meeting course curriculum covers a broad spectrum of cardiothoracic imaging topics, including diffuse lung diseases, pulmonary infections, lung cancer screening, oncologic imaging, interventional techniques, and cardiovascular imaging, among others. Self-assessment modules (SAMs) will provide important opportunities for maintenance of certification and life-long learning needs. Highlights of the 2016 course include: •A n integrated educational and scientific session devoted to advances in cardiac imaging and co-sponsored by NASCI. • The Benjamin Felson lecture, “Evaluation of Incidental Pulmonary Nodules: Saving Lives or Wasting Time?” by Michael K. Gould, MD, MS, Director for Health Services Research and Implementation Science at Kaiser Permanente Southern California. • The Gordon Gamsu Memorial lecture, “Radiogenomics: Next Generation Rad-Path Correlation – Principles and Applications” by Michael Kuo, MD, Associate Professor of Radiology at the University of California Los Angeles. • The Scanlon lecture, “CT Screening: Lessons from the Canadian Trials” by Stephen Lam, MD, FRCPC, Professor of Medicine at The University of British Columbia. The spectacular Scottsdale Resort and Spa at Gainey Ranch in Scottsdale, Arizona is framed against the majestic McDowell Mountains and offers a host of recreational activities. The resort features spacious guestrooms with private balconies, a water oasis with ten pools and sand beach, 27 holes of championship golf, an awardwinning spa, tennis courts and a variety of restaurants. I look forward to seeing you at this exciting venue in Scottsdale! 6 Phillip M. Boiselle, MD STR President Program Sunday, March 13, 2016 7:05 AM Case of the Day Moderator: Ann N.
