Providence Aesthetics & Medical Spa
was established in 2009 by owners Robin
Talley, MD, and Jana Kueck, RN.
They began their 30-plus year friendship as roommates at Cox School of
Nursing. Both Talley and Kueck received
their nursing degrees and began working
in local hospitals. Talley went on to
University of Kansas Medical School and
obtained board certification in anesthesiology.
During her time providing anesthesia
for countless plastic surgery cases and
other outpatient procedures, her interest
in aesthetic medicine led her to obtain
advanced training and a fellowship in
aesthetic medicine through the Academy
of Anti-Aging Medicine. Over the last
nine years, she has administered thousands of injections of dermal fillers and
treatments with botulinium toxin.
Kueck is a Branson native and has
more than 25 years experience in womens’ health services within the local hospital setting. As a lifelong resident of
Branson, Jana has a tremendous love for
the people of this community. She is
skilled in anti-aging procedures including, but not limited to, laser treatments,
collagen induced therapy via skin
needling and Venus therapy. She is well
versed in consultations and a customized
skin care program.
The office has been blessed to introduce new procedures this past year that
are exclusively at Providence Aesthetics
& Medical Spa. These include
Hydrafacial MD treatments for improvement in skin texture, tone and to combat
the effects of aging. Also, Venus Legacy
therapy for improvement in skin laxity by
inducing collagen and tightening the
skin. Both of these treatments have been
shown on “The Doctors.”
The birth of Providence began with a
dream and mission to provide care and to
nurture the mind, body and spirit of each
valued client.
The addition of Dr. Sonja Williams,
DO,
with Women’s Functional
Medicine, and Dr. Sonja O’Bryan,
Pharm. D., ABAAHP, with Lakeland
Pharmacy, will provide the opportunity
for patients to be treated with bio-identical hormone replacement therapy as well
as numerous other treatment options.
The staff at Providence has also grown
this past year and includes not only a fulltime aesthetic physician and nurse, but
two knowledgeable and friendly receptionists, and four skilled, licensed aestheticians with certification and training
in procedures provided. Associate Pam
Hazell, LPC, with Cornerstone Christian
Counseling, provides licensed professional counseling within the facility.
It has been necessary to relocate
Providence, but with every move, there
has been an opportunity to expand services and provide the newest, most effective
non-invasive treatments.

Branson Family Dentistry, located at 714

family dental care as well as a range of specialized services such as root canals, dentures, teeth whitening and Invisalign, which
is an alternative to wire braces.
Dr. Andrea Bruck started the practice in
2010 after a nine-year spell in Clinton. Her
office is comfortable and welcoming, which
matches the quality of care and service from
the staff.
“We really try to get to know patients
through more than just their mouths and
teeth,” she said. “We explain what we’re
doing and what needs to be done then make
sure they’re comfortable during and after
treatment. Our goal is make sure their mouth
is healthy, and that it functions well for the
long term.
“The atmosphere here is very different
than many dental offices. We have a laid
back, easy going and stress-free environment. We want to get to know people on a
personal level, not just as patients.”
Dr. Bruck not only provides comprehensive quality dental care, but she puts an
emphasis on preventative care. She believes
oral health is key in maintaining overall
health.
“Brushing and flossing regularly is the
best way for you to maintain your smile at
home,” Dr. Bruck said.
By offering complete, oral health care
through the utilization of modern dental technologies, Dr. Bruck provides her patients a
comfortable experience that results in a beautiful, healthy smile. She loves developing
long-lasting relationships with patients and
changing their smiles to improve their selfconfidence and quality of life.
Dr. Bruck is a 2001 graduate of the
University of Nebraska College of Dentistry.
A firm believer in “giving back” to her community, she also donates her time and services to several organizations and schools in the
area.

Using laughter to make people
feel better has been around since
the time of King Solomon,
according to information from
Creative Outlet.
In the 1300s, Doctor Henri de
Mondeville told jokes to patients
in the recovery room. In the
1600s, Richard Mulcater, an educator, told people suffering from
head colds to laugh to feel better.
Throughout history, kings have
had court jesters who would
make them laugh when times got
stressful.
Thanks to studies over the past
20 years, research shows that a
good laugh will boost immune
systems, lower blood pressure,
reduce pain, increase lung capacity, improve your and overall
state of well-being, and reduce
stress levels. Because of this,
hospitals, doctors and health clinics have begun instituting laughter programs, involving visiting
clowns and humorous TV shows.
One of the most important contributions to the laughter and feeling better theory is a book written
by Dr. Norman Cousins. In 1964,
Cousins was diagnosed with a
crippling and painful disease. His
will to live and get better led him
to the use of natural resources to
improve his condition. Cousins
began focusing on laughter to create a positive factor that would
change his body chemistry and
help it heal. He watched Marx
Brothers movies and “Candid
Camera” reruns and read funny
books. Cousins recovered from
his illness and went on to write
the book, “Anatomy of an Illness
as Perceived by the Patient.”

What is it about laughter
that makes you feel better?
• Laughter increases white cell
count and raises antibody levels. This increase in antibodies
helps your body fight infections
and illnesses.
• Laughter improves blood circulation and increases the oxygen supply to heart muscles.
• Laughter increases endorphin
levels and lessens pain.
• Laughter improves lung
capacity and increases the oxygen levels in blood.
• Under stress, your body produces a hormone called cortisol.
Laughter reduces high cortisol
levels and brings your body
back to a more relaxed state.
Suggestions to laugh more:
• Cut out funny cartoons, sayings or jokes when you see
them. Put them in a humor file,
and when things get stressful,
pull it out and look at it.
• Do things you did as a kid.
Go to the zoo or a park and
swing on the swings.
• Make your work environment humorous. Bring toys like
silly putty or a slinky to play
with when the stress gets too
much. Have funny pictures of
family or pets on your desk.
• Blow a stressful situation out
of proportion. You will then see
that the problem is not as bad as
you thought.
• Watch a funny movie.
• Throw a come-as-you-are
party. Just have everyone come
when you call no matter what
they look like.
• Invite friends over for a slumber party.
