INSTALLATION NOTES:
•
Inspect the contents of the kit and read the entire instructions before proceeding.
•
We recommend this installation be performed by a qualified technician.
•
Torque all hardware to factory specifications.
•
We recommend using red Loctite on all bolts.
•
When removing wheels, support vehicle with jack stands.
•
NOTE: To use these kits, you must convert your steering box to a
two-wheel drive unit from the same year!!!!!
•
Prior to proceeding, check to see that you have the proper knuckle for your application.
Check the factory tie rod nut position to verify either “nut-up” or “nut-down” style.
Steering Knuckle1) Set the parking brake. Block the rear wheels. Raise front of vehicle and support with jack
stands.
2) Remove the passenger side front wheel.
3) Unbolt brake caliper and support out of the way (do not allow caliper to hang by brake line!).
4) Remove the factory hub assembly.
5) Remove the brake rotor (this is a good time to inspect / re-pack the wheel bearings & seals).
6) Remove the factory spindle (inspect / grease inner spindle bearing).
7) Remove the axle shaft (Prior to sliding the axle shaft out, you can either raise the passenger
side of the vehicle slightly, or, remove the differential cover and drain the oil to prevent gear oil
from running into the axle tube).
8) Disconnect the factory tie rod from the knuckle.
9) Remove the upper and lower ball joint nuts and remove the knuckle.

12) Tighten all hardware to factory specifications.
Pitman Arm1) Remove factory pitman arm with a puller.
2) Install replacement arm and install factory retainer nut with loctite.
3) Torque to factory specifications.
Drag Link1) Assemble drag link with ends and jam nuts .
2) Once installation is complete, adjust drag link to center steering wheel, tighten jam nuts, and
grease all fittings.
