2013 Sonoma County Fair Announces
Hispanic Concert Headliners
T
he Sonoma County Fair is pleased
to announce the
fourth show for its
2013 Concert Series. On Friday, August 9, a caliente (hot)
line-up of Hispanic performers
will spice up the Chris Beck
Arena. Headliners include La
Original Banda el Limón, with
Don Cheto and Intocable.
Emcee and Performer Juan
Razo “Don Cheto”, a popular
radio and television personality
known as "el hombre del
vozarrón" ("the loud-voiced
man"), will open the evening
extravaganza. Cheto hosts the
El Show de Don Cheto (The
Don Cheto Show), an hourlong Spanish language variety
show.
The first featured act,
Intocable, is a Tejano/Norteño
musical group from Zapata,
Texas started by friends Ricky
Muñoz and René Martínez
in the early '90s. Intocable
could very well be considered
the most influential group in
Tejano. Intocable has sold out
many arena events and won
multiple awards, including
their first Grammy in 2005.
The group is expected to
perform some of their most
popular songs, including
“Robarte Un Beso”, “Prometi”,
“Arrepientete” and "Llueve".
The evening will round
out with Headliner La Original
Banda el Limón, whose hit
single "La Original" was
number one on the Monitor
Latino charts recently. The
Original Banda el Limón
is one of the oldest groups
in contemporary Mexican
banda, forming in the mid'60s and led by clarinetist
Salvador Lizarraga Sánchez.
Throughout their history, the
group has balanced old and
new forms more than others
and was of the first banda artists
to amplify and synthesize their
sound.
Pre-sale ticket prices for
floor seating are $40 for adults
and $20 for children under
12. Pre-sale ticket prices for
grandstand seating are $30
for adults and $15 for children
under 12. Ticket prices will go
up $10 after July 24.

She was six or so. She had her
own little bed, bureau, shelves
and stuff, a low rod on which
to hang her clothes, toys, and
three siblings. But, she decided to leave home anyway.
This little girl was
very obedient, understood
the house rules, the
outside behavior rules and
boundaries, and she rarely
misbehaved. When it came
to her decision to leave, she
faced a dilemma.
Sally was my “mother’s

She worked
afternoons helping my
children with school projects,
crafts, and other things while
they could only rarely pull the
wool over her eyes! She met
and solved most challenges as

they arose with my four very
energetic kids.
One day when I called in
to see how things were going,
I was surprised to learn that
Sally was agitated and had a
big problem: “She says she is
leaving home! She is packing
all her things, and wants me
to help her take her furniture
and everything out the back
door! I asked her where she
was going, and she explained
that she couldn’t cross the
street, so she was going to live
