Moderator and speakers of Africa Forum Thursday, December 11, in Tallinn, Estonia Hannes Hanso Mr. Hannes Hanso has graduated from Orissaare Secondary School in Saaremaa and has studied at the University of Tartu in Estonia. In the 1990s, he spent two years studying Chinese at Sichuan and Heilongjiang Universities in China. He received both his BA in Politics and Development and his MSc in Asian Politics (with a focus on China’s foreign and security policy and Central Asia) from the School of Oriental and African Studies of the University of London. Hannes has worked at the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Estonia. He spent two years as a researcher at International Center for Defence Sudies in Tallinn. In addition, he has been a member of the EU diplomatic service in Beijing, covering the People’s Republic of China and Mongolia. His foreign policy analyses have been published in various publications (Postimees, Delfi, Eesti Päevaleht, Diplomaatia, Akadeemia, Sirp, etc.) and he is a frequent participant in radio and television debates on foreign policy. Hannes is currently involved in local politics as a mayor of Kuressaare in Saaremaa The project is funded by the Estonian Foreign Ministry’s Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Aid funds Nkwusi Godswill Chimezie Mr. Nkwusi Godswill Chimezie is a Nigerian and currently a second year PhD at Tallinn University of Technology. In addition, he also works with the school’s international office as a student advisor to African student and up to date over 60 African student study at TUT. He has over 4 years of Industrial working experience in Nigeria. Godswill has a Master degree in Environmental management (UNILAG) and Material Science (TUT). In addition, he has also studied at University of California Berkeley as a visiting research student and has also completed a diploma program at the European Innovation academy. Nkwusi Godswill has a very strong passion for African development and possible business links in Africa. Kadri Humal-Ayal Ms. Kadri Humal-Ayal has lived in Kenya since January 1995. She has worked in human resource development, manned and surveillance security, telecommunications and brand development companies. Since December 2002 she has been running her manufacturing company dealing in security rubber stamps. Kadri is an active Rotarian since February 2007, engaged in numerous water and sanitation projects every year in Kenya. In 2008 Kadri was appointed as Honorary Consul of Estonia In Kenya and continues to serve in that position to date. In addition to her manufacturing business she does consultancies in strategic planning and human capital. The project is funded by the Estonian Foreign Ministry’s Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Aid funds Eero Saue Mr. Eero Saue leads the EU policy design on financing for sustainable development, including aid to developing countries in the European Commission. Before joining the European Commission in 2008, he has been the development counsellor in the Permanent Representation of Estonia to the EU (2004-2007) and worked on both relations with East Asia (2007-2008) and development policy (2001-2004) in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Estonia. Patrik Säilä Mr. Patrik Säilä is one of the founding partners and CEO of Frontline Responses Finland (FRF) Ltd., a leading Finland –based security risk management company providing innovative security solutions worldwide. An experienced ex-special operations and intelligence officer, with over 19 years of military service, Patrik has extensive global experience in command, intelligence and operations appointments. Patrik has been awarded the Infantry General Adolf Ehrnrooth commendation for “motivating leadership”. Patrik has been in the private security industry since 2011, during which he has served in various high risk environments from Pakistan to the Gulf of Guinea. As CEO he has given advice to several Multinational Corporations and Non-Governmental Organizations in how to operate safely in challenging areas as well as supervising and offering leadership to multiple FRF operations globally. Patrik is a preferred speaker about security risk management issues from various seminars and training events in Finland. The project is funded by the Estonian Foreign Ministry’s Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Aid funds Tamás Nádor Mr. Tamás Nádor is a director of Occasio Ltd., privately held consulting firm based in Helsinki. Nádor has been living in South Africa since 1998 and has worked with numerous technology transfer projects from Nordic region to SubSaharan Africa. Current client list includes companies from over €1bn/a turnover large corporations to small start-ups with great growth potential. Nádor has a general securities finance degree from Helsinki School of Economics, Bachelor of business administration degree from University of South Africa as well as Technology Entrepreneurship course diploma from Stanford University. Arvu Mägi Mr. Arvu Mägi is the CEO of an engineering and architectural bureau Amhold AS. He has over 28 years of experience in developing and leading construction projects in Estonia, Sweden, Finland, Uganda, Tansania, Rwanda and South Sudan. He is a Chartered Civil Engineer and a member of ICC WBO Estonia council. The project is funded by the Estonian Foreign Ministry’s Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Aid funds Riina Kuusik-Rajasaar Mrs. Riina Kuusik-Rajasaar is Head of Program for Africa and Board Member of NGO Mondo, Estonian development cooperation organization since its establishment in 2007. She has worked at UNHCR refugee camps in Africa and lectured on International Relations at various universities in Tallinn. She has called to life such initiatives as the Estonian Roundtable for Development Cooperation, the Estonian Refugee Council and promoted International Fairtrade movement and certification system in Estonia. H.E. Teshome Toga H.E. Amb. Teshome Toga is a veteran diplomat and a policy maker serving in different top decision making Institutions of Ethiopia with over 30 years of experience. Presently, He is serving as Ethiopia’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Benelux and Baltic Countries and to the EU. Prior to this, he served in over four Countries with the same status. Amb. Teshome also served in number of Expert and leadership positions within the Regional and Federal levels including Ministerial Positions and speaker for House of People’s Representatives of Ethiopia, the highest decision maker of the country.
