The venue
On the southern coast of Tenerife, just bordering the sea, you will find the Amarilla Golf
and Country Club. The character of the 18 hole course is marked by the incredible views
of the Atlantic Ocean which, without a doubt, inspired golf architect Donald Steel. The
Golf course, surrounded by barrancos and a residential development, provides a defying
challenge for the professional golfer while, at the same time, offers an attractive and
enjoyable game for those of a more modest ability
From the first tee, the player will appreciate the spectacular ocean views.
Following on to the 2nd, 3rd and 4th holes that are surrounded by a broad variety of
typical canarian flora, enormous Cannas Indicas, the beautiful Washington Palms and the
very exclusive Canarian Pines. The most impressive part of the round reaches its peak at
the 5th hole: This is truly a gem for golf lovers, where the sea becomes a fairway, making
it necessary to cross in order to reach the green.

Regulations
Tournament of 36 holes, Strokeplay and Stableford
Tuesday 1 December 2009 – 18 holes, Strokeplay and Stableford
Wednesday 2 December 2009 – 18 holes, Strokeplay and Stableford
Participants are amateurs with a recognized golf handicap.
The tournament will be divided into three categories with players competing
in the following groups:
Category 1
Handicap 0 – 16
Category 2
Handicap 16,5 – 26,4
Category 3
Handicap 26,5 – 54
There will be prizes awarded for the 1st 2nd and 3rd best net scores in the
three categories, and the best gross overall score from the first two
categories. No person can win 2 prizes.
In the event of a tie in any category, the results will be determined by
“countback”
The International Mar y Sol Open will be played in accordance with the
Rules of Golf, and Modifications to the Rules of Golf for Golfers with
Disability and any Local Rules.
These regulations are subject to modifications by the organizing committee.
Closing date for entry forms is November 16 2009.

The price for the extra transfer Mar y Sol Hotel – Amarilla Golf Club – Mar y Sol Hotel for
the non-golfing companion is 15,00 € per day (joining scheduled transfers for the
participants of the tournament).
It is the responsibility of the participant to ensure that he and his non-golfing companion
have valid passports and any necessary visas or other required documentation to comply
with national and local travel or immigration regulations. They will also be responsible
for taking any precautions necessary to ensure that all health advice for travel to this
region is followed.
Flights are not included. All other expenses including food, drinks, spending money,
travel expenses to/from the Tenerife South airport and travel insurance are not included
in the package, and will be the responsibility of the participant and the non-golfing
companion.
