S. Suite 250 Norcross, Georgia 30092 www.CollinsonMedia.com A. STATEMENT OF QUALIFICATIONS Collinson Media and Events has been serving the tourism industry for more than 40 years and has been innovating within the digital space for much of that time. Beginning in 2012 we began to serve the industry through website design, development and management for select partners who saw the value in a collaborative and customized website development relationship. Through our relationship with the eCommerce and development firm Look-‐Listen, we serve tourism industry clients that want a relationship with a proactive development shop, focused on the DMO/CVB space, that builds open-‐source solutions designed to meet specific destination challenges. To date we have launched six destination sites, and helped countless others enhance their current site with custom digital services offerings including SEO, site consulting, analytics audits, social engagement efforts, marketing automation efforts and more. We have developed relationships with top-‐tier service platforms including Rackspace for hosting, Sucuri web security platform for server and site-‐level security protocols, SilverPop for marketing automation, Oracle social cloud for social media integrations and social management and more. In addition, we have developed relationships with each of the top-‐tier service providers within the tourism space including website integrations with leading tourism CRM platforms Simpleview, until recently D3000 (purchased by Simpleview), and iDSS and the top-‐tier packaging/booking engines, aRes travel and JackRabbit/BookDirect. Our suite of previous website experience includes major tourism hubs, rural locations and both meetings and leisure destinations including both cities and beaches. Beyond that, we are intimately familiar with the Tupelo market, we have a long history of working with Tupelo from a media perspective and we look at this as a tremendous opportunity to increase the scope of our relationship. Thank you for this opportunity to present our solutions. 3 15 Technology Pkwy. S. Suite 250 Norcross, Georgia 30092 www.CollinsonMedia.com Suggested Mobile Formats Collinson almost exclusively develops websites using responsive design principles and custom responsive theme layouts. An example of which can be seen below in the execution for VisitOakland.org which makes effective use of the varying device screens to deliver an optimal user experience without sacrificing content accessibility. Desktop Tablet Mobile 4 15 Technology Pkwy. S. Suite 250 Norcross, Georgia 30092 www.CollinsonMedia.com Content Management Systems As most DMO staff members that will be daily managing and updating content within the site are non-‐technical, the simplicity with which site management needs to be done is the top priority. For this reason, we tend to prefer to leverage open-‐source solutions such as Wordpress for the Content Management Platform on our sites. This solution provides multiple benefits: •
Ease of Use: The tool itself is intuitive and the editor is second only to Microsoft Word in the simplicity of its user interface. •
Expanded support: the open-‐source community is larger than any other CMS platform and the network of available, high-‐quality, off-‐the-‐shelf plug-‐in extensions means that we can quickly and easily expand the functionality and capabilities of the site/platform on behalf of our client’s without having to constantly delve into custom code development (lowering long term cost of ownership). Even if a custom widget must be built, it is often possible to start with a plug-‐in that someone else has built as a jumping off point for the custom expansion work. •
Portability: The near ubiquity of the leading open-‐source solutions (more than 19% of the web is built on Open-‐Source platforms -‐ http://venturebeat.com/2013/07/27/19-percent-of-the-web-runs-onwordpress) means that at the end of our contracted service period with our client, they have a tool that can be updated and maintained by virtually any other development shop in the world. We work with our clients to make sure that their solution is portable and fully transferrable if/when the time comes for them to move the solution elsewhere. 5 15 Technology Pkwy. S. Suite 250 Norcross, Georgia 30092 www.CollinsonMedia.com Booking and Packaging Engines Collinson works extensively with the leading hotel booking engines currently serving the DMO marketplace and based upon our early assessment of the needs outlined in this RFP, it is likely that Tupelo will be best served by the aRes Travel implementation. It is impossible for us to estimate what that investment might be as we are not a reseller of their solutions so the cost for the aRes technology platform is not included in our pricing estimate. Sample aRes Travel Implementation 6 15 Technology Pkwy. S. Suite 250 Norcross, Georgia 30092 www.CollinsonMedia.com Search Engine Optimization We make extensive user of the inherent Wordpress SEO functions and available meta-‐
data manipulation plugins that the system provides to ensure that our sites continually follow SEO best practices. The team at Collinson actively reviews every content page/post and all on-‐site media for keywords, titles and descriptions (including Alt titles and Alt Descriptions). This is our front-‐end SEO incorporation approach. In addition, we work with our DMO clients on custom link-‐building strategies, competitive SEO/SEM analysis and defined keyword growth opportunities and content generation plans. Our ongoing SEO efforts include a thorough review of the site from a SEO perspective – including website architecture and link structure, page rank, meta-‐data, site ranking per key phrase, content review, link analysis, and duplicate content issues. This evaluation also includes an evaluation of competitive sites evaluation and complete documentation of identified areas for improvement. Standard Search Optimization efforts include: •

Suite 250 Norcross, Georgia 30092 www.CollinsonMedia.com Scope of Work Collinson follows the same 360° Service approach -‐ consisting of three distinct stages -‐ for every website development project. This approach allows us to fully understand the needs and objectives of our clients, design a solution to achieve those goals, build out and then measure our results with an eye towards continual optimization. The specific steps included in this staged approach are outlined below and the individual applications of these stages are provided in detail. 8 15 Technology Pkwy. S. Suite 250 Norcross, Georgia 30092 www.CollinsonMedia.com Design During the design phase our creative and development team will work with your newly developed brand standards and creative agency to build a site that stands out from the rest and to ensure a top quality user experience. Our team will extend your brand online, blending your marketing message with the latest technology and innovations. Develop Our development staff takes the design vision and turns it into reality, building, customizing, and configuring your site to function with the most up to date technologies and third-‐party components. All the while we ensure we are using the best practices and standards for both search engine optimization and browser & device compatibility. Deploy We test and launch the site, but our job isn’t done. Using analytics and user feedback we continue to monitor the site’s effectiveness. As trends change and new insights are discovered, we continue to refine your online initiatives to maximize your ROI. 9 15 Technology Pkwy. S. determination of selected vendors for these services. This partnership is ongoing and has been in place since early 2013. Look-‐Listen We started Look-‐Listen because we wanted to build an agency that delivers results through understanding business goals and consumer needs. Since then, we’ve helped brands around the world—both large and small—solve problems, build revenue, and think creatively. We’ve built everything from enterprise-‐level online tools to e-‐
commerce sites and mobile websites and apps. We’ve learned a lot of things along the way. However, the most important thing we’ve learned is if we keep our focus on what’s right for your brand and the end user, magic happens. At the end of the day, we’re in business to make your business successful. We want to apply the things we’ve learned over the years to help you achieve that success and avoid the mistakes other companies make. Even without knowing the specifics of your situation, I can tell you that there are opportunities in almost any area of your business to make things better through design. Suite 250 Norcross, Georgia 30092 www.CollinsonMedia.com Two Most Recent Past Clients As a major provider of digital media and marketing solutions, Collinson doesn’t ‘lose’ clients regularly and even client’s whose specific services bundles expire continue to be productive relationships in one capacity or another. However, Collinson has experienced two service ‘terminations’ in the last year. Beverly Hills CVB (www.lovebeverlyhills.com) In 2012 Collinson was awarded the Hosting and Maintenance services for the existing LoveBeverlyHills.com website and promised an opportunity to compete for the bid to completely redevelop the site in 2014 when the budget became available to do so. For fourteen months we provided emergency response, hosting and maintenance services for the Beverly Hills Convention and Visitors Bureau but we were unfortunately not selected as the development house for the reiteration of their website this year. In July of 2014 we assisted their new website partner with the transition from our hosting solution over to their new website. Martin County CVB (www.discovermartin.com) Collinson developed the DiscoverMartin.com website in 2013 and proceeded to exceed every metric for website performance that the CVB had in place, however; with rising community issues involving waterway re-‐nourishment and beach replenishment the Martin County Tourism Board voted to end their contract with the CVB and in doing so, terminated all agreements with existing vendors. Collinson continued to service the hosting and maintenance of the DiscoverMartin.com website until such time as the County Parks and Recreation department was able to make arrangements to bring the hosting of the web solution in-‐house. In early 2014 Collinson assisted Martin County Parks and Recreation with making their digital transition to a in-‐house hosted solution. 26 15 Technology Pkwy. S. Nor has any litigation been filed against Collinson in that time. Accounts Gained Visit Sedona Collinson was awarded the Visit Sedona website rebuild in a competitive bid process against an established website development firm within the tourism space. This firm already had an existing relationship with the bureau and had several systems already in place with which the bureau was working and familiar. The presentations were made and Collinson was victorious on the basis of our creative approach to the specific client needs and our ability to deliver upon all of the required elements within the specified budget. The client required a customized approach to monetizing their website and using Collinson’s approach they have been able to do just that while still integrating with their Simpleview CRM and aRes Booking Engine, among others. 28 15 Technology Pkwy. S. Suite 250 Norcross, Georgia 30092 www.CollinsonMedia.com Visit Oakland Collinson was awarded the Visit Oakland website rebuild, again in a competitive bid process against an established website development firm within the tourism space. Collinson’s approach, although not the flashiest creatively spoke to the client’s specific needs for a firm to work collaboratively with their branding agency to implement a newly defined brand positioning via the web and to integrate their existing systems and recommend new systems to enable their growing business needs.
