Polar Bear
November 4 - 10, 2016
Experience Canada’s natural wonders and fascinating
sights on this exciting tundra adventure.
Our ultimate arctic adventure begins
with a flight to scenic Winnipeg, the
capital of Manitoba. Known as “The
Gateway to the West,” this vibrant
multicultural city offers many fascinating
attractions and restaurants and will be
our home for the next two nights.
Day 2: DISCOVER WINNIPEG
After enjoying a delicious included
breakfast, we’ll discover Winnipeg’s
rich, historic past on a city tour. We’ll
learn about St. Boniface Basilica,
Winnipeg’s French Quarter that is
home to a thriving Franco-Manitoban
community, and the Exchange District,
a National Historic Site home to one
of North America’s finest collections of
turn-of-the-last century architecture.
We’ll also visit The Forks, home to yearround shopping, dining, entertainment
and 6,000 years of history. Later we’ll
visit the stunning Manitoba Museum,
home to over two million artifacts. We’ll
round out our day at Assiniboine Park
where you’ll experience the world’s
most comprehensive Northern species
exhibit: Journey to Churchill. This
10-acre site features cold-climate
species such as Arctic fox and muskox.
We’ll also watch Northern Lights dance
around the 360-degree domed Aurora
Borealis Theatre. At a special WHO
Radio welcome dinner, we’ll meet our
fellow travelers and listen to an interpretive guide talk about our upcoming
adventure. B,D
