On the zone chart, locate the destination postal code (the postal code you are shipping to). The number located to the right of the destination postal code is your zone number. Using the zone number identified above, refer to the Domestic rate charts on pages 12 through 16. Select a delivery service based on your shipping needs and find your shipment rate based on weight. EXTENDED AREA When an origin or destination point is beyond the normal Loomis Express service area an Extended Area surcharge may apply. The number located to the right of the destination country code is your zone number. Using the zone number identified above, refer to the International rates on pages 17 through 21. Select a delivery service based on your shipping needs and find your shipment rate based on weight. All shipping rates exclude applicable fuel surcharges, taxes or any accessorials that may apply to your shipment. 06 Loomis Express | DOMESTIC AND INTERNATIONAL RATE GUIDE DETERMINE THE WEIGHT OF YOUR SHIPMENT Place your shipment on a scale to measure the actual weight of the package. Determine the cubic weight of the package in pounds by using the formula below. All charges are based on a minimum density of 15 pounds per cubic foot, then round up to the nearest whole number. L x W x H (inches) x 15 (cube factor) 1728 (1 cubic foot) The greater of the 3 weights (Declared, Actual or Cube) will be the chargeable weight for your package. If you have a multi-piece shipment, add the greater of each package’s actual or cubic weight. Once the sum of the total shipment is determined, then round up to the nearest whole number. Minimum Billable Weight on Multiple Piece Shipments A minimum billable weight of 6 lbs. (3 kg) per piece will apply when the average weight per piece in a multiple piece shipment is less than 6lbs. (3kg). With the shipment weight calculated above you can determine the rates using the following rate charts. Add the additional cost of any Extended Area Surcharges and/or Loomis Express Domestic or International accessorials that may apply to your shipment. 07 Loomis Express | DOMESTIC AND INTERNATIONAL RATE GUIDE WEIGHT AND SIZE GUIDELINES The following restrictions apply to individual packages within a shipment: Maximum weight per piece 150 pounds or 68 kilograms Maximum length of 72 inches or 183 centimeters Some service restrictions and charges may apply to Domestic and International destinations. For more information call customer service at 1.855.2LOOMIS (1.855.256.6647) 08 Loomis Express | DOMESTIC AND INTERNATIONAL RATE GUIDE DOMESTIC ACCESSORIALS Address Correction* An additional charge will apply if a recipient’s address is incomplete, incorrect, illegible, or is addressed to a post office box or R.R.# location on a waybill. Loomis Express will attempt to find the correct address for the shipment to complete delivery. $10.00 per shipment Chain of Signature If you require security control, you can use chain of signature to track your shipment every step of the way. Your shipment receives manual verification and security checks allowing visibility and accountability from origin to destination. $8.00 per piece Collect/Third Party Bill Surcharges All shipping charges will be considered “prepaid” unless otherwise noted on the waybill at the time of shipping. An additional charge will apply when transportation charges are paid by a third party or receiver. $5.50 per shipment Dangerous Goods Under some circumstances within Canada, Loomis Express can carry acceptable quantities of dangerous goods or hazardous materials. Packages containing dangerous goods or hazardous materials will be assessed and charged accordingly. Additional charges may apply. $38.00 per shipment e-Returns Loomis Express will ship returned goods from your customer’s location back to your warehouse. Send a request online. $2.00 per shipment 09 Loomis Express | DOMESTIC AND INTERNATIONAL RATE GUIDE eReturn Unable to Pickup For E-Return shipment requests which are not available for pickup on the first attempt. $7.50 per attempt Extended Area Surcharge An additional charge will be applied when the origin or destination point is deemed by Loomis to be remote or when the location is not directly serviced by Loomis. Variable based on origin and destination of shipment. Download the Extended Area zone and rate guide on loomis-express.com Fragile Shipments To ensure your fragile shipments are handled with care, clearly indicate “FRAGILE” on the waybill. No claim against fragile shipments will be processed unless the description on the waybill clearly indicates “FRAGILE”. This service is subject to an additional fee of 50% of the standard shipping rate. Fuel Surcharge Loomis Express reserves the right to apply a fuel surcharge on all shipments regardless of destination and service selected. Information on the fuel surcharge rates will be posted on loomisexpress.com please refer to the website for more information. Manual Waybill An additional charge will be applied when using manual waybill and/or preprinted manual waybill. $1.25 per shipment Missing or Invalid Account An additional charge will apply when the account number is missing, or an incorrect account number is entered on the waybill by the shipper. $10.00 per shipment DOMESTIC ACCESSORIALS CONTINUED Non Standard Shipment Surcharges Overweight: Charged for any package that is equal to or greater than 75 pounds or 34 kilograms. Oversize: Any package where the longest side is equal to or greater than 60 inches or 152 centimeters in length. A non-standard surcharge will only apply once to a single piece within a shipment. $12.00 per piece Paper Invoice Fee A charge will apply when a customer receives a paper invoice by mail. $1.75 per invoice Proof of Delivery Documented proof that your shipment has been delivered. A copy of the receiver’s signature of delivery confirmation can be provided on Loomis Express letterhead and sent to you by fax or e-mail at an additional cost. Electronic copies are available free of charge on loomis-express.com. Pickup Not Available (PUNA) When a driver arrives at the shipper’s address for a requested or scheduled pickup that has not been cancelled, ready or available a fee will apply. $7.50 per attempt Repeat Delivery Attempt* If Loomis Express cannot deliver on the first attempt, we will automatically attempt to redeliver on the second business day at no additional charge. This surcharge will be applied on the third requested and authorized delivery attempt. $10.00 per additional attempt Residential An additional charge will apply to a residential pickup and/or 10 Loomis Express | DOMESTIC AND INTERNATIONAL RATE GUIDE delivery from/to a home, including a business operating out of a home. Residential locations are determined by postal code. $5.00 per shipment Return Cheque Loomis Express will collect payment on delivery for your shipped goods. Simply enter the amount on the Return Cheque waybill and make it payable to the sender. We’ll pick up your payment in the form of a cheque, post-dated cheque, certified cheque, bank draft or money order before releasing the package/shipment to the consignee. $11.00 per shipment Saturday Delivery * The collection or delivery of a package/ shipment on a Saturday to selected postal codes in Canadian cities. $23.00 per shipment Shipment Value Protection A liability surcharge is applicable based on the value of the shipment, as declared by the sender in the S.V.P box on the waybill. All shipments with a declared value exceeding $2500.00 (to a maximum of $5000.00) must be pre-authorized with a Special Agreement Number obtained from Loomis Express Customer Service prior to shipping. Domestic surcharge $3 per $100 of declared value (or fraction thereof). Special Handling Charge Non-pack: Charged for any item absent of proper packaging due to their nature (e.g. size, shape, contents) including pails, containers, tires, ball bearings, nuts, bolts and fasteners, liquids, wooden or metal crates. Re-pack: Charged for any article with inappropriate, or insufficient original packaging. $12.00 per piece *Accessorial is subject to the Fuel Surcharge rate in effect at the time of shipping. INTERNATIONAL ACCESSORIALS Non-Standard Shipment A non-standard surcharge will only apply once to a single piece within a shipment. Oversize Piece- Any piece measuring more than 48” (120 cm) in length will be subject to an additional charge. A non-standard surcharge will only apply once to a single piece within a shipment. $12 per piece Overweight Piece- Any piece or article equal to or greater than 70 kgs or 154 lbs is subject to an additional charge of $50 per piece Shipment Value Protection A liability surcharge is applicable based on the value of the shipment, as declared by the sender in the S.V.P box on the waybill. All shipments with a declared value exceeding $2500.00 (to a maximum of $5000.00) must be pre-authorized with a Special Agreement Number obtained from Loomis Express Customer Service prior to shipping. $3 per $100 of declared value (or fraction thereof). Duties and Taxed Paid An administrative charge of $15 per shipment will apply for the invoicing of destination duties and taxes to the Shipper, third party or to an entity in a third country, to ensure such duties and taxes are not paid for by the Receiver. NAFTA destinations are exempt. The administrative charge does not apply to document shipments. FDA Prior Notice Submission The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) bio-terrorism regulations require that a Prior Notice (PN) for all shipments containing food or food products be filed electronically to the FDA prior to shipment arrival. A charge of $20 per shipment will apply. Fuel Surcharge Loomis Express reserves the right to apply a fuel surcharge on all shipments regardless of destination and service selected. 11 Loomis Express | DOMESTIC AND INTERNATIONAL RATE GUIDE Information on the fuel surcharge rates will be posted on loomisexpress.com please refer to the website for more information. Restricted Access Destination (R.A.D) Shipments traveling to a pre-determined list of destinations that are under trade embargo or security risk are subject to an additional fee. Restricted Access Destination is a location that meets at least one of the following conditions: - Trade Embargo - United Nations or U.S. State Department War and Conflict list - Under terrorism threat 5% of Shipment Rate (Per Shipment) Remote Area A remote area is determined as difficult to serve or too distant, inaccessible or of low shipment density. U.S. exempt. A charge of $30 per shipment or $.30 per LB for shipment weights greater than 100 Lbs. Dangerous Goods Dangerous goods pose some form of danger to people, animals, the environment, or the carrier, so our certified experts ensure they’re handled safely. For the latest list of dangerous goods, please go to www.iata.org. Shipment of Dangerous Goods is subject to Loomis Express’ Terms and Conditions and applicable legislation (including International Air Transport Association (‘IATA’) Regulations and the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Act). An additional charge of $65.00 will apply to each International Dangerous Goods shipment. Dry Ice The handling and transportation of Dry Ice (UN1845) used as a freezing agent for goods. A charge of $5 per shipment will apply.
