Day 1 - 2: Latitude 13, Lilongwe
Welcome to Malawi! Arriving at the Lilongwe International Airport, your guide will welcome you and
after greetings he will then take you to Latitude 13, a luxurious hotel in Lilongwe for a night.
Latitude is a new contemporary boutique hotel in the heart of Lilongwe. With 3 Luxury Suites and 6
Executive Suites this boutique hotel will be a welcome surprise for business travelers and holiday
makers passing through. The hotel boasts the finest restaurant in Lilongwe with an exceptional
wine collection.
Day 2 - 4: Blue Zebra Lodge, Nankoma Island - Salima
After breakfast at Latitude 13 you will be picked up by your guide and drive straight to Senga Bay,
Salima. Upon arrival at Senga Bay – Salima a representative of Blue Zebra Lodge will transfer you
on a boat ride to Nankoma Island for your accommodation.
The Lodge offers 8 exclusive tented en suite chalets each overlooking the lake with some of crystal
clear waters. The chalets are set in an unspoiled environment and guests are surrounded by nature
and luxury. Guests are free to chill at the infinity pool, Kayak around the islands or enjoy a game of
volleyball as part of the board package. The lodge also offers free use of snorkelling equipment to
view the unique colourful fish that inhabit every inch of the coastline.
Day 4 - 6: Mkulumadzi Lodge, Majete Wildlife Reserves
After breakfast, you will have a boat transfer from Blue Zebra Lodge to Senga Bay – Salima. Upon
arrival at Senga Bay – Salima your guide will pick you up and drive towards Mkulumadzi Lodge in
Majete Wildlife Reserve.
Mkulumadzi Lodge is surrounded by 7,000 hectares of private concession; Mkulumadzi enjoys an
idyllic location at the confluence of two rivers shaded by giant Leadwood trees. It is the perfect
combination of splendid isolation and first-class facilities.
The lodge has eight superb chalets, each with spacious living quarters and private viewing deck.
Guests can swim in a pool, dine under the stars, and enjoy river cruises, game drives and walking
safaris.
Undiscovered by tourists, Majete is a true wilderness where every trip into the bush with the
experienced guides you will feel like an adventure.
Day 6 - 8: Huntingdon House, Satemwa Tea Estates
Enjoy you last morning at the Mkulumadzi Lodge, after breakfast it is time to head to the stunning
Tea Estate region. Arguably the most scenically beautiful region of Malawi, The Thyolo district forms
the heart of Malawi's tea producing region with rolling hills of immaculately cultivated, emerald
green plantations and some of the oldest estates in the country. Huntingdon House was built in the
1920's and the estate has been in the Cathcart Kay family for generations, with members of the
family still running the tea and coffee production of the estate. The grand old colonial style house is
surrounded by magnificent gardens and beautiful old trees.
Day 8 - 10: Mvuu Lodge, Liwonde National Park
From the stunning tea estates region, get ready to drive to your next destination; the wonderful
Mvuu lodge in the Liwonde National Park.
Your accommodation will be at luxury Mvuu Lodge, overlooking the Shire River. With a profusion of
hippos (Mvuu means hippo), crocodile and amazing birdlife you can enjoy you time sitting watching
the wildlife by the river, as well as joining in any of the many activities.
Activities offered include game viewing, river cruises, nature walks, bird watching, star gazing and
more.
The camp is of top quality with very classy luxury safari tents overlooking the lagoon, the food is
exceptional and the package includes sunset river cruises and early morning game drives.
Day 10 – 12: Pumulani Lodge, Cape Maclear
Today it is time to head to the Lake. After breakfast, prepare to leave the Mvuu lodge. Your guide
will pick you and drive towards Cape Maclear and turn on the way to the beautiful Pumulani Lodge.
Pumulani is an exclusive beach lodge within Lake Malawi National Park. The lodge has ten
individually-designed villas spread out along a lush hillside overlooking the lake. Each villa boasts a
large bedroom, a spacious living area and a private deck with lake view. Guests can relax on the
sandy beach or at our stylish infinity pool. For those seeking activity, there is waterskiing, sailing,
diving, wakeboarding, kayaking, snorkelling, fishing and bird watching. At sunset we offer scenic
cruises on our traditional wooden dhow. It’s the perfect way to experience the beauty of Lake
Malawi, described by the explorer David Livingstone as The Lake of Stars.
Day 12: Departure Lilongwe
All the good things must come to an end and today after breakfast at the Pumulani, your guide will
drive you straight from the Cape Maclear to Lilongwe International Airport for your flight back
home.
