We would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the sale and thank
our consignors for their outstanding consignments to the sale this year.
We would also like to thank everyone for your support of our sale last year. It
was an exciting event that was enjoyed by everyone who attended and took part
over the internet. Sales were up and we recorded the best sale average ever. We are
also pleased to have a facility such as WKU's LD Brown Ag Expo Center here in
Bowling Green available for our sale. It was very suitable for the sale as well as the
Southern Winchester Futurity. Numerous hotels, motels, and restuarants are in
close proximity to the Expo Center.
We are very pleased to Welcome you to the 2014 edition of the Hudson-Valentine Spring Invitational Sale. This sale offers many, many exciting opportunities for
everyone to purchase some of the finest and elite Texas Longhorn cattle in our
breed. The genetics are outstanding and represent the best the industry has to offer
today, ie, top females with outstanding pedigrees and bred to the leading sires in
the industry. If you are looking for big horned individuals, many are available at
this sale.
On several occasions, Bill and I have discussed the fact that we don't wish to
produce just any ol’ sale, but only sales that feature elite Texas Longhorns. These
type of cattle will always give you the best return on your dollar through sales of
their offspring and their own resale value. And, it has always been our goal at every
sale we have ever produced to increase the profitability of our valued consignors
and buyers by choosing elite consignments for our sales. And, we will never change
that philosophy. It has worked in good times and has been especially productive
during tough market times, when purchasing quality cattle was the best decision
at the time. Quality never fails and it will always give you best return on your investment.
Presently, the outlook for the future of the Texas Longhorn cattle business is
very good. There's a bright future for all of us in the business and over the past 20
years we have witnessed a strong drive for growth. New breeders are joining the
business in good numbers and the cattle are continually prized for their many desirable attributes.
We are very pleased to welcome back the Southeastern Winchester Futurity
again this year. They produced a record event last year and work hard to support
the consignors to their event. Our upcoming sale on April 4-5, 2014 will also feature
full meals and refreshments prior to all events, it will be a fun time and also an opportunity to visit with old friends. But most importantly, add great genetics and
elite cattle to your current program.

BIDDING Each animal will be sold to the highest bidder with reserve.
BIDDING DISPUTES The auctioneer in charge will settle any disputes as to bids, and his
decision on such matters shall be final.
TERMS Terms of the sale are cash or check to the clerk at the conclusion
of the sale. Checks are to be made payable to Hudson-Valentine
Invitational Sale.
POSSESSION Immediately after the animal is sold, it will be the sole risk and
responsibility of the buyer thereof, but possession cannot be obtained
by him until payment is made.
CERTIFICATES A certificate of registration will be furnished and transferred to the
purchaser on each lot in the sale, exclusive of calves at side,
unregistered steers, and calves selling separately from the dam.
Applications for registration will be provided for calves selling
seperately. Please provide name, address and the association of your
choice when signing up for a buyers number or at check out.
HEALTH All animals are eligible for interstate shipment except as otherwise
noted. The cattle have been tested for tuberculosis and Bangs disease
within 30 days of sale date. A health certificate will be furnished.
BREEDING GUARANTEES All breeder guarantees are strictly between the individual consignor
and the purchaser at the sale. All calves are given to the purchaser
free and with no guarantees. The purchaser must look to the seller
for fulfillment of all guarantees and representations made hereunder.
ANNOUNCEMENTS Announcements from the auction box take precedence over printed
matter in this catalog. All cattle will be sold by lot-numbers, as
announced by the auctioneer.
LIABILITY All persons who attend this sale do so at their own risk. Hudson nor
Valentine (Texas Longhorn Enterprises) nor their representatives nor
WKU Ag Expo Center, Bowling Green, KY, and anyone else connected
with the sale assumes no liability, legal or otherwise, for any accident or
loss of life that may occur.
CONTRACT The above terms and guarantees shall constitute a contract between
the buyer and seller of each animal sold.
PURCHASER’S RISK Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser as soon as it is sold,
but will not be delivered until settlement is made.
