Main(Default) Dashboard Page :: Joomla
Backend is created highly advanced to give the end user rights to customize the content as per
their needs.
Default Dashboard Page
Dashboard Page contains the primary tabs for the site for eg :





Add New Article :: ( to create a new static page)
Article Manager :: ( Listing of all the articles (pages) on the website )
FrontPageManager :: ( contains the list of articles which appear on the homepage )
Section and Category Manager :: ( this options are used to differentiate the articles by
categorizing them. This page gives you options to create new sections and categories )
Menu Manager :: ( This Option is use to create links all over the site for eg: main menu ,
footer links, etc )

Media Manager :: ( this allows you to upload images to the site and also contains the list of all
the image uploaded on the server. )
K2
K2 this is a advanced plugin used for products and pages to create tabs in pages.




Add New Item :: ( this option allows you to create a new product or page )
Items :: ( listing of all the pages and products under k2 )
o Groups :: ( this option allows you to create new group for pages and products )
o Tabs :: ( this option allows you to create a tab )
Trashed Items :: ( this is a listing page for all the trashed [deleted] items )
Categories :: ( this page gives you option to add categories and also contains the list of all the
categories . for eg : blood bank , pharma )
Top Navigation



Menus :: ( has a drop down of all the menus used in the site )
Content :: ( has a drop down option for the articles for eg : Add New Article , etc )
Other Tabs controls the other part of the sites.
Default Page contains other tabs which are useful for other sections.
Add New Article



Title : for the page
Section : Useful for Latest News ( This option also allows you to segregate your content )
Category : Useful for Latest News ( This option also allows you to segregate your content )
To add a option in Section / Category drop down you need to create Sections/Category first from
the Section Manager / Category Manager.


Publish : Option to publish the document or not. Unpublished Documents will not appear
on the site. This is just a draft option if in case want to save the article for future
publishing.
Front Page : There is radio button to control whether the article will display in homepage
or not

Image :: will open a popup
Choose file :: allows you to upload image on the server . Once the image is uploaded it will
appear on the above gallery. Find your image and select it and click on insert to add it in the
editor.
Note : The Gallery will display all the images uploaded on the server via Media Manager.
To save the content Click on Save or Apply.
Once you save the content it will appear in article manager.
To show your content in the frontend you need to go to the menu manager create a link and
select the article which you want to show. Well explained under Topic :: Menu Manager
Article Manager







There is a filter option to search the articles in the article manager.
On the right side there are primary buttons for artice manager for eg : Add , edit , etc
Click on the Page titles to edit the content of the page.
The published column shows whether the content is published or not.. Click on the icon
next to the Article title you want to publish or unpublish.
Same applys to Front Page Column .
Section / Cateogry Column shows that to what category/section the article is assigned
to.
Bottom of the lists there is a option the navigate through articles and to control the no. of
articles per page in the backend. + Icons Identifcations
Front Page Manager
This page only displays the articles which appear on the hompage
Contains similar options to that of Article Manager .
except for front page column as it is already listing the contents for front page.
Section Manager
This page displays the sections created.
Click on the Section Title to edit
Or Create New from the Top Right.
Editor is provided for description of the section
Add Category
This has similar options to that of Section.
It has one more extra option to select the Section in which category belongs to
Section and category works hand in hand.
Category is a sub-option of section.
Menu Manager
This page lists the menus created in the site.



To edit the menu click on the menu title.
Click on the menu Item icon to list the menu links in the respective menu item
Published column shows the number of menu links in each menu.
Menu Item Manager




Click on the Menu Item to Edit and link the article to internal page or external page.
Click on the Up and Down Arrows to change the Order of the menu items. It will auto
save the order.( Note :: Changing the no’s wont change the order. )
Published Column Shows whether the Menu link is visible on site or not.
Type Column shows the type of the menu link ( for eg :: if it is a k2 item(tabbed articles /
Products ) or article)
To Link Articles(Static Page) to the Menu Item
Step 1 :
Select the type of Item you need to link to whether is a article , K2 Item , External Link ,
Seperator if linked to nothing.
Over here Click on Article
Step 2 :
Click on Article layout
Step 3 :




Enter the title of the menu item
Select where the menu item should appear : Top if as level 0 or the menu items . if
under it.
Click on Select to choose the articles. And click on article title to select the articles.
Click save once done.
To Link Products (Tabbed Pages) to the Menu Item
Step 1
Follow the same procedure as above-step1 and click K2 instead of Articles.
Step 2
a) Click on Item to directly link menu item to the product page.
b) Click Item Listings > Categories to link the menu item to the category (gallery) page.
Step 3
a) Follow the same procedure as Step3 above to Directly link to the Product or Tabbed
Page
b) Enter the title for the menu item and select the order of the menu item.
c) Select which category to show. You can also select multiple categories to show.
d) Apply the settins as how you want the page to appear. Apply the settings showed in the
screenshot to have a display like the existing ones on the site.
Click on Save once done.
To add a Product or Tabbed Page
To associate tabs to the page select the category to which the tab group has been
assosciated. ( To Create New sort of tabs you need to create new tabs , category and tab
groups. You can find the instructions below in the Manual. )



Enter title
Select the category (This is important to display what tabs are need to display)
Enter content to display it above the content.
Options – Image (This options is for Product Image )
Click on browse image option and upload image for Products Page.
Options - Tabs
This will display the tab fields.
( for eg : it will display Features , Optional Accessories , etc for Blood bank Category and Iq , Pq for
IQ , PQ Category )
Click Save once done.
Create Categories
Click on categories under K2




Enter Title
Select Parent category if any
Select the tab group
Enter Description
Create Tab Groups
Go to Components > K2 and click on Tabs Groups.
Create Tabs





Click on Tabs under k2
Enter Name
Select Group to assosciate with
Select type .
Select textarea and and check use editor for text editor.
To get a full page layout without sidebar
Go To Extentions > Template Manager
Click on phoenics radio button and click on edit.
Scroll down to layout option and type the article id and left+content.
To get the id of the article you need to go to that page on the site and get the id from the url.
In this example you shall have to enter 48=left+content to get the full layout.
Because there are no widgets in the left panel.
All the widgets are assigned to right panel for eg : tags and quick links
Default layout of the whole site is assigned as content+right.
