Assembly Instructions for Cozy Crib Tent for Convertible Cribs Ages 0-36 Months – To be used by one child at a time. WARNING! This product must be assembled by an adult. Read these assembly instructions and warnings completely before you begin.This will make assembly and use easier, quicker, and safer. The Cozy Crib Tent for Convertible Cribs WILL NOT FIT if: • The back or front of the crib is solid (without slats) • The “slope” (height difference between where the side meets the front & where the side meets the back) is greater than 6 1/2" • The crib has any built in furniture (such as a changing table or shelving) • The crib is greater than 56" long (outside edge to outside edge) x 31" wide (from where the 61/2" slope back rail meets the side rail to the outside edge of the front rail.) • The front railing is greater than Not greater than 31" 20 1/2" around. Zipper Pocket STEP 1: Assemble rod sections Assemble the two top rods, each made up of 3 sections (2 with metal fittings, 1 without) creating two completed top rod assemblies (diagram 1). ing itt F al et M WARNING! Diagram 3 Push with Palm Button Hole Tab STEP 3: Push rod assemblies into bottom of rod sleeves Completely covered rod tucked properly into reinforced button hole tab. Once both completed top rod assemblies are in their respective sleeves (making sure each rod assembly is all the way into its reinforced rod sleeve at back end), use a push-pull method to completely cover both top rod assemblies. Cover exposed end of rod assemblies by grasping material in one hand and pushing rod assembly in with palm of other hand until rod is completely covered and tucks back into its reinforced button hole tab forming dome of tent (diagram 3). Diagram 2 Button Hole Button Hole Tab Front View (Zipper Side) STEP 2: Insert the two completed top rod assemblies Locate the 2 button holes at front (zipper side) end of each top rod sleeve. Insert one completed rod assembly into each of the 2 button holes (diagram 2) making sure each rod assembly is all the way into its reinforced rod sleeve at back end of unit, leaving both rod assemblies slightly sticking out of button hole until Step 3. The poly bag can suffocate a child. Promptly dispose of the poly bag where it cannot be reached by children. Corner Rod Pocket STEP 4: Place top rod assembly ends into pockets Place the four rod assembly ends into their respective pockets located in each corner by slightly bowing the end of each rod with one hand and grasping the pointed tip end of border with other hand, so it will gently slip into pocket (diagram 4). (DO NOT attempt to stretch pocket over rod ends. Gently pull rod pocket TIP and bow rod into pocket). The inserted rod end in its pocket then sits INSIDE THE FOLD of the vertical strap material. WARNING! Total structure strength is only achieved when rod ends are inserted into corner rod pockets. Please see reverse side for further directions! CCTConvCribInstructions_6.2010 8/5/10 3:30 PM Page 2 STEP 5: Placing the Cozy Crib Tent for Convertible Cribs on crib A. Remove mattress from crib. B. Crib frame MUST be set to the LOWEST setting. C. If you are using a bumper pad, attach it to crib slats BEFORE placing tent on crib (bumper pad placement is BETWEEN crib slats and net). D. Place assembled tent on crib (making sure zipper opening faces front) with Crib Tent dome portion resting on top of crib side rails allowing inside surround net to hang freely inside crib (bottom net rests on top of mattress frame). E. Adjust the tent so that it is evenly set on the crib frame (check each corner). WARNING! DO NOT add additional strings, straps, hook & loop, etc. to attach tent to crib! Diagram 6A Vertical Strap Diagram 8 Diagram 8A Headboard & footboard STEP 8: Securing horizontal end panels Secure Horizontal End Panel Straps making sure to feed one strap through the front and one strap through the rear of crib, wrap around crib posts over vertical strap (diagram 8A), weave into the first slot and out the second slot on the side of the crib so that they connect crossing over the end panel laying flat against the crib slats (diagram 8). Diagram 6B WARNING! NEVER leave child unattended unless tent is securely attached to crib and completely zipped.Tent should be zipped when not in use. Failure to do so may cause injury. Diagram 9 STEP 6: Securing tent to crib A. Feed the 5 railing wrap straps, beginning at the center and working outward, between the tent netting and crib frame. Feed the straps between the slats on the front of the crib, and through the loops on the underside of the railing wrap. Pull straps in a downward motion to tighten, then pull the strap up and around the backside of the front railing to attach the strap to itself. B. Feed five rear straps through the slats and attach each to itself by wrapping it around the crib slats (diagram 6B). NOTE: If there is excess strap after it is wrapped around the crib slat, continue to wrap the rough end around itself near the seam. Diagram 7 STEP 9: Prepare crib and tent for use Unzip the front panel, insert mattress into the Cozy Crib Tent for Convertible Cribs so that it lays flat on bottom of crib, and zip front panel (diagram 9). Always check to make sure all straps are securely bonded and pulled as tautly as possible. Also check that the zipper pull is completely tucked inside the zipper pocket after placing your child inside the tent. Collapses for easy storage or travel: 1. Detach unit from crib 2. Squeeze top rods together so unit flattens into a half circle 3. Tuck excess material (inside surround net) into flattened dome 4. Keep unit closed by wrapping the closest end hook and look strap around both rod ends then secure strap to lock. (subject to change for product improvement without notice.) STEP 7: Secure top & bottom vertical straps Secure top & bottom vertical straps. Make sure to feed bottom straps through the corners of the mattress frame, out and under the side of the crib. Then pull straps tightly and attach them securely (top to bottom, diagram 7). Use according to instructions — to be used with (not in place of) parental supervision. Failure to do so may cause injury. IMPORTANT! PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING: • When zipping the zipper, always make sure the zipper pull is inserted into its safety pocket. • When washing or storing, make sure all hook and loops are properly closed so lint or dirt will not hinder bonding. • Check all hook and loop fasteners each and every time your Cozy Crib Tent for Convertible Cribs is in use. • If your Cozy Crib Tent for Convertible Cribs does not fit the crib, DO NOT USE! Return to place of purchase. • NOT to be used as punishment. • Please save these instructions for future reference. LIMITED WARRANTY This warranty is extended only to the original purchaser. A purchase receipt or other proof of date of original purchase will be required before warranty performance is rendered. This warranty only covers failures due to manufacturing defects which occur during normal use. It does not cover damage which results from misuse, abuse, mishandling, alteration, or improper assembly. There are no other express oral or written warranties with respect to this product, and all warranties implied by law, including any warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, are limited in their duration to the 60-day warranty period. (Some states do not allow limitation on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitation may not apply to you.) This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state. Cozy Crib Tent for Convertible Cribs is warranted against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of 60 days after the original date of consumer purchase. If the Cozy Crib Tent for Convertible Cribs should become defective within the warranty period, we will replace it free of charge.
