The number of students that have visited our schools has increased continuously during the years and in 2015 a total of 1.600 students enrolled on our courses. This increase is primarily due to the recommendations of our former students and the trust of our worldwide partners. Working in related fields like organising English and German courses, as well as language trips for Spaniards enables us to offer a culture and language exchange in our schools. Besides the Spanish classes we facilitate contacts with Spaniards to learn about the culture and to practise Spanish on a private basis and at no additional cost. The high pedagogical level is confirmed by different public accreditations and recognitions. Both schools are “Centro Acreditado del Instituto Cervantes” and accepted by CSN ALICANTE to receive students with Swedish state funded loans and grants to study abroad. Our 30 hours per week courses, in Alicante and Granada, are recognized as “Bildungsurlaub” in Germany (Berlin, Brandenburg, Bremen, Hamburg, Hesse, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Lower Saxony, Rhineland-Palatinate and SchleswigHolstein). We have also signed a collaboration with the University Miguel Hernández de Elche (Alicante). We also offer placement in Spanish companies to realize internships or in combination with our Spanish courses. Our installations in Alicante in Granada are located directly in the centre of the cities. Students have free access to Internet and a library with Spanish literature at their disposal in all our schools. fedele como Lengua Extranjera Alicante Our facilities are in the centre of Alicante in C/ García Morato, 41 and 28 with more than 500 m 2 , distributed among 24 classrooms. Every room is fully equipped and air-conditioned. The teachers have overhead projectors as well as laptops in all classrooms. The students have free WIFI available and laptops with Internet at their disposal at the school and in the new cafeteria. Alicante is located in the south-east of the Iberian Peninsula, directly on the Costa Blanca – one of the most beautiful Spanish coasts. The Romans named the city "Lucentum", city of light, and captured the character of this radiant palm-lined city facing the sea, which enjoys an extremely pleasant climate. A hectic pace is unknown here and the "Siesta" is still taken seriously. People relax among the beautiful boulevards and enjoy a coffee, a Horchata or a Granizado as they stroll around. Although Alicante is the heart of tourism on the Costa Blanca, it has banished the tourist industry from its gates and retained its charm as a Spanish university city. Despite its 330.000 inhabitants, Alicante is a town in which almost everything is within walking distance, and acquaintances often cross paths. Stylish boulevards, the modern yacht port, the picturesque and architectonically interesting old town quarter, modern shopping districts, and the palm-lined sandy beaches provide a lot of variety and remain in visitor’s memories for years to come. San Fernando Castle Estación de tren Diputación Provincial Pl. Navarro Rodrigo Pl. de ls Luceos Central Market Hall Theatre Santa Barbara Castle Catedral Beach Granada Our facilities are in the centre of Granada in C/ Párraga, 18-1º with 160 m2, distributed among 6 classrooms. The teachers have overhead projectors as well as DVD and video at their disposal. The students have free WIFI and laptops with Internet at their disposal at the school. Granada (population 240.000), situated in the south of Spain in Andalusia, is one of the most beautiful monumental cities, including in its city-centre the most visited monument in Spain, the "Palace of the Alhambra". It dates back to the last Arabic reign in the West, whose influence remains all over the city. By visiting Granada you have the chance to experience and breathe the "real Spain" in every corner of the city. You can enjoy the mountains of Sierra Nevada, situated just 40 kilometres away from the city, particularly for skiing from December to April. Alternatively you can visit Barrio del Albaicín Alhambra the beach, situated 50 kilometers away, where the sun shines almost all year round, thus boasting its own tropical micro-climate. Granada is a university city with a pleasant nightlife and an immense number of bars in the old part of the city where you will find a large variety of "tapas" offered free of charge. Both younger and older people can find the atmosphere that suits them best, given the wide variety of cultural activities that the city offers all year round. Sierra Nevada> Capilla Real Catedral Convento San Jerónimo Parque de las Ciencias > Courses 2016 In order to ensure effective instruction and long term learning success, we apply modern teaching methods that are oriented towards the interests and capabilities of the students. All activities will take place under the professional and experienced monitors’ supervision. Before arriving After inscription the student/agent receives the booking confirmation with prices and form of payment. We need the payment of the registration fee during the following 2 weeks to keep the reservation. The rest has to be paid up to 2 weeks before the course starts. The whole amount can also be paid in one transfer. Together with the tuition, the students have to pay a 30 EUR deposit. This deposit will be given back once the course book is returned (which can also be bought) and the accommodation is left in a clean and tidy condition. 2 to 3 weeks before start of the course the student/agent is provided with the exact address of the accommodation and the procedure of picking up the keys. Together with the directions we send a map with all places indicated and a Spanish-test that has to be filled out and sent back at the very latest one week before the course starts. Activities and excursions Accommodation To make nature, life, and culture around the cities more accessible, we offer numerous excursions and activities. We also accept suggestions and organize excursions and trips spontaneously. Excursions outside the cities that involve any cost have to be paid by the students (10 to 20 EUR). Activities like certain excursions inside the city, welcome party, language exchange or video afternoons are free of charge. Furthermore we have special agreements to get discounts for museums, theatres, fitness clubs, sailing and paragliding schools, diving centres, etc. Nevertheless there is a lot to do and see that can be done easily by oneself and we are happy to give tips and explain how to go everywhere. Our facilities, apartments and host-families are located in the centre of the cities. This means nearly everything can be reached on foot in less than 30 minutes, as well as the beach (Alicante), the commercial center and the night life area! Language Exchange After their regular Spanish lessons or at the weekend, students may want to improve their conversational skills. Working with Spaniards interested in learning foreign languages as well as with foreigners interested in learning Spanish enables us to set up what we call "Language Exchange". Both parts take advantage by making contact and practising the foreign language without any additional cost and on a very personal level. How, when and where they meet is up to the students. If one doesn't show up, or the other wants to have more meetings, there is always the possibility to contact somebody else. We can offer accommodation either with families or in shared apartments that are fully equipped with kitchen, bath, and living room. The students have to buy their own food, cook, clean, etc. In a family they have the possibility to strengthen their Spanish in a family atmosphere and experience the Spanish culture in close contact. When we talk about family-homestay we refer to living with Spaniards. This is not necessarily the “traditional“ family with the parents in their forties or fifties and two or three children, but in some cases couples or women living alone. The goal is to have contact with Spaniards apart from their classes, live and eat together with them, learn about culture and, of course, practise Spanish. So, very often students go on weekend trips as well, go out or... with “their families“. For those who want to stay in a hotel, we will be glad to help with finding and booking a room. Terms and conditions of enrolement 1 Participants for the general courses must be at least 17 years old and for the Summer Camp at least 13 years old. Any exception to this is subject to special arrangements. • Leaving the room and the respective area in a clean and tidy condition • If the student is not in the apartment at the settled time for the handing over, the deposit is not refunded. 2 Before enrolling for a course, participants must make sure that there are no restrictions preventing them from participating in a language course in Spain. 10 At the end of the course all students receive a certificate of attendance (minimum attendance of 80% is required). 3 The appropriate course fee is shown in the price-list valid on receipt of the application form by Proyecto Español. After receiving the confirmation, the participant has to remit the registration fee of 60 EUR. All bank charges must be borne by the participant. 4 The contract between the Institute and the participant is finalized and becomes binding when the Institute gives written confirmation of the enrolment. The confirmation can be issued only after receipt of the registration fee. Should the Institute for important reasons not be able to confirm the registration, the registration fee will be refunded in totality. 5 Should the participant cancel his or her enrolment, the school is only required to refund the course fees (minus the registration fee of 60 EUR) if such a declaration of cancellation is submitted to the school, at the latest, 3 weeks prior to the commencement of the course. If the cancellation is less than 3 weeks before the commencement of the course booked, the course and accommodation fees for up to 2 weeks course duration remain due. In case of premature departure because of private reasons, the paid tuition for course and/or accommodation is not refunded. 6 In extreme cases of misbehaviour or violation of the law, the school reserves the right to expel the student from the school. The paid tuition for the course and/or accommodation is in these cases not refunded. 7 No price reduction can be granted for students who start the courses in the middle of a week (because of flight schedules, etc.). School fees for national or local holidays are not refunded. 8 Should the minimum number of three participants required for a specific course exceptionally not be met at the start of the course period booked, the Institute is entitled to run the course - with regard for the pedagogical objective - in a modified form. Instead of the group course, the school will arrange individual classes for one/two students with a reduced number of the total hours. 9 Together with the tuition the students have to pay a deposit of 30 EUR which is reimbursed at the departure under the following conditions: • Returning of the course-book (can also be bought), in blanc and clean condition. 11 Any damage in the accommodation caused by the student has to be reported immediately to the school. If at his arrival the student finds any damage produced by former occupants and doesn't communicate it to the school the first day in class, he will be held responsible for the damage. In case that none of the occupants takes responsibility for damage, the cost will be divided between all of them. 12 Regarding the accommodation in an apartment the students have to respect certain rules. In case of extreme disregard the school can expel the student without any refund. • The celebration of parties in the apartment is not allowed. • Having a special attention in not disturbing neighbours and flat-mates between 0 and 8 am. • The room, as well as the common area, has to be kept in tidy and clean conditions. • Overnight stay is absolutely forbidden to any person that is not registered in the apartment. 13 The fee for the course does not include any kind of insurance. The participant is himself responsible for taking out health, accident and, if desired, third-party liability insurance. 14 The participant is liable directly to the aggrieved party for any and all damage he causes. Should the participant cause any damage for which the Institute is held liable, the Institute is entitled to indemnification by the participant. 15 The Institute does not assume any liability should it be prevented by forcemajeure, or by any other reason for which it is not responsible, from providing its services. 16 Proyecto Español needs to receive the provided Spanish test, at the latest, one week before the course starting date. The students are responsible for doing the test without the help of material or another person. Otherwise, we can not guarantee they will be placed in the correct level, neither the possibility of changing them to a more suitable group once the course has started. 17 VISA: in the case the student receiving a VISA to come to Spain to the course registered, we can not accept any cancelations neither changing the course or the city. In the case of the visa being rejected, the corresponding fees are paid back after receiving a copy of the documentation that proves the rejection. 18 The Institute is legally domiciled in Alicante.
