What is the Woodward
Dream Cruise?
The Woodward Dream Cruise
is the world’s largest one-day
celebration of classic car
culture that attracts over 1
million visitors, and more than
40,000 muscle cars, street
rods, custom, collector and
special interest vehicles.
When is the Woodward
Dream Cruise?
The Woodward Dream Cruise
takes place each year on the
third Saturday in August. This
year, the 22nd Annual Woodward Dream Cruise will be
held on Saturday, August 20,
2016. It runs between 9 a.m.
and 9 p.m.
Where is the Woodward
Dream Cruise held?
The Dream Cruise takes place
along a 16-mile stretch on the
historical Woodward Avenue
through nine host communities
including Berkley, Birmingham, Bloomfield Hills, Bloomfield Township, Ferndale,
Huntington Woods, Pleasant
Ridge, Pontiac and Royal
Oak, in Southeast Michigan.
Why is the Woodward
Dream Cruise held?
The Dream Cruise started as
a fundraiser for a soccer field
in Ferndale in 1995. In just a
few short years, it has evolved
into the world’s largest oneday automotive event. Spectators and cruisers travel to
Metro Detroit, the birthplace of
the American automobile, to
demonstrate and participate in
an event that celebrates an
ongoing love affair with the
automobile.
Is there a cost to attend the
event?
There are no fees to cruise in
the event or to watch. Anyone
can participate although, those
not driving a classic car are
asked to stay out of the two
right lanes nearest to the curb.
Where should I park?
The Woodward Dream Cruise
is a spectacular experience to
drive, or, merely watch and
marvel from the sidelines.
Public parking is available
along or near the cruise route.
GETTING TO KNOW THE
EXPERTCARE OFFICE STAFF
We thought it would be nice to introduce ourselves and tell you a little bit about each of
our office staff. Each month we will feature a new interview with someone from our
office.
MEET SHARON BROWN
ECare: Tell our Caregivers a little bit about you.
Sharon: I am a mother of two grown children and I have one granddaughter. I love to travel and I love working with people in a capacity
that helps them to be better in their personal lives. In my personal
family I am known as the therapist, the Great organizer, and the Great
event planner.
ECare: What is on your bucket list?
Sharon: My Bucket list would be to spend one month in Hawaii and
one month in Paris.
ECare: What is your position at ExpertCare?
Sharon: Administrative Assistant
ECare: What are your job responsibilities?
Sharon: To ensure that from the beginning of the day to the end of
the day that our office can run smoothly and efficient, ensuring that
our StaffingConsultants as well as all team member have what they
need to accomplish their short-term and long-team goals. This starts
with ensuring that our work environment is comfortable to mailing
out needed supplies to our caregivers in the field.
ECare: How long have you been working at ExpertCare?
Sharon: I started on January 7, 2016
ECare: Why do you like working for ExpertCare?
Sharon: In my Administrative Assistant role at ExpertCare there’s a
strong sense of appreciation from our entire internal team and that
makes for a great work environment. It’s not difficult to come to
work because when you know that you are appreciated you look
forward to spending time with the people you work with each day.
You really want to make sure that they have what they need to accomplish all day-to-day tasks. Working here has provided me with
structure and an environment that feels like family. We have such a
team spirit and you never feel alone in any task that needs to be completed.
I really enjoy working at ExpertCare.
ECare: What is the most challenging part of your position?
Sharon: With the desire to help people, it’s sometimes a challenge to
know when not to get involved. And not to take things so personal
remembering there’s a bigger picture.
ECare: What’s a good piece of advice for Caregivers?
Sharon: My advice to caregivers – THAT YOU ARE NOT
ALONE…….Always remember that you have a support system behind you that refuses to let you fail. Even though your work is difficult and challenging, please be sure to keep in mind that the service
you provide to our Consumer families allows them to have a piece of
mind that some families may have never had the opportunity to experience.

INSIDE STORY HEADLINE
Caregiver Enrichment Series
We are excited to announce our second Caregiver
Enrichment Series event! We will be discussing Emo-
tional Intelligence on Wednesday August 17th at
10:00am.
The course will be approximately one hour in
length and will be held in the ExpertCare training room.
Emotional Intelligence is the ability of individuals to recognize their own, and other people's emotions, to distinguish between different feelings and label them appropriately, and to use emotional information to guide thinking
and behavior. Studies have shown that people with high
EI have greater mental health, job performance, and
leadership skills. Bagels will be provided.
Please register by going to: https://

This event was created for you and is voluntary.
Thank you,
Brooke Peiffer and Dan Jacey
The Caregiver of the Month for
July was Blaine Zuza
Congratulations and thank you
for all your hard work and dedication!
Blaine is a truly committed caregiver. He has made a lasting impression with the consumer he
cares for. ExpertCare received
the following kind letter from the
family of the consumer: “Our
family is so happy to have met
Blaine. He is such a caring and
compassionate person. Blaine
goes out of his way to turn an
ordinary game into a fun learning experience or discussion for
my son. My son really looks up
to Blaine. I find him to be a great
role model. I honestly cannot say
enough good things about
Blaine. We consider ourselves
truly lucky and blessed to have
Blaine in our lives!” ExpertCare
truly appreciates everything
Blaine does and we are very
proud to have him represent ExpertCare in the field. Thank you,
Blaine for your hard work and
dedication in changing the lives
of others.
