for a concert of history’s most toe-tapping Classical
music. With musical selections including a waltz from
Tchaikovsky’s Sleeping Beauty, a habanera from Bizet’s
Carmen, and a wild square dance from Copland’s Rodeo,
you won’t be able to stop your feet from tapping!

Dr. Seuss’s tale of “Sam-I-am” and his hilarious
advocacy of a rather questionable meal set to music
by renowned composer Rob Kapilow, with musical
inspiration from Mozart’s Eine kleine Nachtmusik.
Kapilow’s wonderful, delightfully funny musical score
goes from tongue-in-cheek “opera” to funky blues,
to silly songs such as “Heart and Soul” and “I’ve
Been Workin’ on the Railroad.” This original work is
composed especially for children teaches lessons about
overcoming everyday prejudice.

imposing monumentality. She makes

Julien Brocal appears as part of Maria João
Pires’s Partitura Project, a program designed
to create opportunities for young musicians
to share the concert platform with well-known
artists, encouraging the transmission of
knowledge from one generation of pianists to
the next, and introducing audiences to these
upcoming artists.
