FALLS CREEK — The members of the
Clearfield-Jefferson Drug Free Communities
Coalition continued to discuss potential strategies for reaching out to member organizations
after they experience leadership turnover at
the coalition's most recent meeting.
Coalition Chairman Rex Lettie said that a
number of key individuals in Clearfield and
Jefferson counties have vacated their positions recently. New people have assumed
those roles, and not all of them are involved in
DFCC's activities.
He said this has particularly been a
problem with school district superintendents
in Clearfield County, which has seen a high
degree of turnover in recent times.
"It's pretty hard to keep them involved
without us doing some kind of strategy, and
we can't just assume anymore that because
'Superintendent Smith' was active that his
successor, 'Superintendent Jones,' is just going
to jump on our bandwagon," Lettie said.

the matter at a recent meeting and came out
