L’WREN SCOTT LAUNCHES EYEWEAR COLLECTION
Whether she chooses the sleek mystery of an incognito escapade or a floodlit fashion statement,
‘sunglasses are a woman’s best friend’, says fashion designer L’Wren Scott, who would never be
seen without a pair of spectacles. They have indeed become an essential part of any outfit, just
like shoes, bags and jewellery.
Spring 2013 sees L’Wren Scott’s debut in eyewear. At once spectacular and understated, the
collection defies seasonal trends. Timeless, flowing elegance, yet resolutely cutting edge, these
pieces can be worn to any occasion, enhancing the wearer’s sensuous femininity. Here elegance
meets individuality.
The 21 sunglass models of the collection are classic with a contemporary twist: oversized
butterfly shapes, subtle cats’ eyes, bold squares to dress and flatter a woman’s face, in the same
way L’Wren Scott designs adorn every female body and personality.
The frames reflect her signature experimentation with texture in her garments. Impressions of
tweed, embossed velvet, delicate filigree work to reinvent lace and brocade are pared down with
a minimalist use of highly polished acetate, or brightened with gleaming crystals.
About L’Wren Scott
L’Wren Scott has dispensed with the traditional notion of seasons,
opting instead to name her collections. Launched in 2006, the
first collection titled, Little Black Dress, started with the idea of
wearable, versatile pieces — entirely in black. The autumn/winter 2009 collection, Bois de Boulogne, marked the launch of her
signature Italian-made shoes. For the spring 2010 season, L’Wren
Scott collaborated with Lancôme and their artistic director Aaron
de Mey to launch a make-up line inspired by that season’s show:
smoky eyes, lacquered tones of grey and deep burgundy varnishes.
Most recently, L’Wren Scott introduced her collection of frame bags,
available in various sizes and exotic skins, debuting exclusively at
Barneys stores.
The palette is wide-ranging, from black to gold, to deep red and nude with every luxurious
shade in between. This collection is designed to empower women, whilst ensuring every moment
will be a glamorous one: “I don’t like to dictate trends but hope women who wear my glasses can
invent their own fashions” says L’Wren Scott.
In addition to the sunglass models, the L’Wren Scott eyewear debut collection includes 21 styles
of optical frames echoing the sophisticated aesthetic universe of the designer, offering classic lines
and neutral colors but also innovative colors and shapes.

work, echoing L’Wren Scott’s recent lace-based designs. The model also
comes in a gilded version with crystals, reflecting the designer ’s love for
adornment.
