History
Riley was originally established, in 1897, as a humble sports shop in Manchester. By 1912,
the Company had diversified into manufacturing Snooker tables in Accrington. It soon
produced 4000 full size tables a year and exported to all parts of the globe.
By the mid 1920’s the Riley brand, based upon creative design, quality materials and
immaculate craftsmanship had grown into a leading premium snooker tables, cues and
accessories brand.
BCE was founded, in 1976. The Company started life as a distributor to the coin
operator sector, supplying cues, balls and table spares. By 1980, BCE had diversified
into the manufacture of snooker tables. From 1982-1992 the BCE Westbury snooker
table was the table being used at all the World professional snooker tournaments and
BCE had become one of the biggest names in snooker.
In 2002, Stuart Lacey brought the Riley and BCE brands together within the same Group.
Today, Riley and BCE Snooker tables continue to be made in Accrington, England. Our
products have an aspirational mix of style, craftsmanship, performance and desirability,
with many of the sport’s leading professionals endorsing Riley and BCE products.
Our employees will ensure that our story continues by passing our skills and values onto
the next generation. Our highly skilled chief fitter, was trained by his father, and is now
training his son, who wants to follow in the footsteps of his father and grandfather.

Made from the finest materials available, the Ash used in the shaft,
is selected from 18 to 20 Ash shafts produced to ensure both density
and aesthetics of the Ash match expectations.
The butt is hand spliced in black ebony, with tulip Snakewood splicing
and white ebony in the butt chamfer section as the final touch of
over stated pure indulgence.
We will only produce 100 pieces per year of this exclusive one of a
kind cue and to make this truly a collectors item, each cue will be
personally signed by Ronnie O’Sullivan.
The Limited edition by Ronnie O’Sullivan is not for everyone, just the
chosen few who want something a little bit special, which this cue is.

The match cue is what it says. “The Match Cue” this is the cue
reproduced by Riley which was used by Ronnie when he won his 5th
World title in May 2013.
To commentate Ronnie’s 5th World Crown, Riley have decided to
produce only 500 Match cues which will be sold World wide. This truly
magnificent cue will not only represent an outstanding Cue piece
made from the finest raw materials, hand crafted in England by
senior Riley technicians, it’s also the closest you will get to playing
with Ronnie’s cue itself.
Individually numbered, hand signed by Ronnie O’Sullivan in person
the Match cue is an inspirational collectors item.

cues very often. My “Created by Series” is a way for me to create
great looking cues and in some respects are a re-creation of some
of the great cues I have enjoyed and played with over the years” I

Riley Burwat Pro cues offer the traditional styling values for which
Riley have become justifiably famous, but with a few hidden extras
that deliver significant advantages to snooker players. The hand
spliced butts are provided with exotic wood front splices and genuine
veneers, finished with the distinctive Burwat plate. What you can’t see
is that the shaft is the unique L8 design – possibly the most significant
step forward in shaft technology in snooker since cues were first
turned. Instead of a single piece of ash, the L8 shaft is laminated
from 8 separate pieces. Engineering principles mean that the shaft
barely deflects on contact with the cue ball – delivering the cue
power straight through the line of aim and in to the shot. The Everest
laminated tip ensures that all this power stays under control. For
players seeking to take their game to the next level, Burwat Pro is the

Like the Burwat Pro Series, the Burwat Champion range is fitted with
the unique L8 shaft and Everest laminated tip. The L8 shaft offers
less deflection when contacting the cue ball, meaning straighter
shots, less unintentional side being applied and all of the cue power
is delivered straight down the line of aim. The Everest laminated tip
applies the same engineering principles to the design of the tip –
the laminations mean that the tip distorts less on contact: cleaner
contact means less deflection and straighter shots. Taken together,
these innovations deliver real improvements that help players take
their game to a new level. The Burwat Champion cues are simpler
designs than the Pro range, for those preferring to let their game do

Burwat cues are cut to the ¾ style favoured by many professionals –
the rapid release joint is out of the eye line when making a shot. Butts
for these cues are hand spliced rosewood, with high quality stain or
ebonised finishes.
