More Facts
•  It is 20% oxygen on the summit of Kilimanjaro.
•  Barren means ‘’too poor to produce much or any
vegetation’’.
•  2 reasons why it is dangerous is because there
are many loose rocks that can slip off the
mountain and hit you. Another reason it is
dangerous is because you could get dehydrated
and black out while you’re climbing up the
mountain and fall.

Fun Facts about Mt. Kilimanjaro
•  One thing I found interesting about Kilimanjaro
is that it has three volcanic cones, Mawenzie,
Shira, and Kibu. It’s last major eruption was
about 360,000 years ago.
•  Also that Kilimanjaro has no certain origin, but
one of the most popular theories is that it
came from Kilma Njaro meaning ‘’shining
mountain’’ in Swahili.
