A CREATOR Jade Jagger
A CREATOR Born in Paris in 1971, Jade Jagger is today a universally recognised artist for her jewellery creations and she is also known in the fashion and design world. Jade’s childhood was marked by the New-Yorkese pop art, at its height in those days. The Factory, Andy Warhol’s renowned workshop, inspired and nourished her talent for painting. When the artist talks about Jade, he humorously recalls his meeting with her: "I like Mick and Bianca but Jade and I are cast in the same mould. I taught her to paint and she in turn taught me how to play Monopoly. She was four when I was forty-four.” R é s i d e n c e S e c o n d a i r e Jade started her artistic career at the end of the 1980s. After having studied painting in Florence and reaped some success in various exhibitions, her free and dynamic mind prompted her to found Jade Inc. and launch upon the creation of jewellery inspired by fantasy and bohemian colours. Her creations, at first, exclusively marketed by the Paul Smith boutiques, aroused the interest of numerous well-known enterprises such as Maxfields, Bergdorf Goodman, Barneys, Colette, Browns, The Cross and A La Mode. Jade Inc. then became an international concern. In 2000, its success impressed Asprey & Garrard, an important British jeweller’s shop which proposed that Jagger become its artistic director. This fruitful collaboration lasted for six years. En 2004, Jade and the designer Tom Bartlett, her long-time partner, joined John Hitchcox, Philippe Starck and the Yoo brands to create luxury apartments the world over. With Jade being the arts director of the concept “Jade Jagger for Yoo”, the first residential development project “The Jade”, in New York, was born and was followed by “The Lakes”, in the Cotswolds, one of the most sought for places in England. She also realized various Yoo projets in Marrakech and in Bombay. In 2008, Jade conceived a precious ice pick “Jagger Dagger” in platinum and lapis-lazuli, designed for the Vodka Belvedere brand, which was successfully launched internationally. Not satisfied with creating magnificent jewellery and sumptuous interiors in the four corners of the earth, Jade also tried her hand at fashion design, drawing original models which are now sold side by side with her line of jewellery in the first shop that bears her name and was inaugurated in November 2009 in All Saints Road, in the west of London, as well as in the Jade Jagger Beach Boutique, a seasonally open space in the north of Goa, in India. Finally, in 2010, Guerlain called on Jade’s talent and asked her to redesign the bottle of its famous Shalimar perfume. Two exceptional bottles were designed on that occasion, with handfashioned tops adorned with sapphires and “polka” diamonds. Jade’s special sensitivity allied to her taste for luxury, lavishness and simplicity has won her recognition on the part of critics, in papers and magazines all over the world. A CREATOR Jade Jagger Jade Jagger To find inspiration to design the label for such an exceptional wine as Croix de Beaucaillou, I turned to the jewel like quality that wine possesses in the French culture and tradition. Translating personal notions of style and beauty that enhance our perceptions of pleasure and taste, my design represents the elegance, finesse and depth of Croix; executed with a lightness and conviviality that sharing such a wine should bring to the spirit.
