It’s time to Get in the Game with our all new
Summer Reading Clubs for patrons ages 0-100!
We have a Summer Reading program for everyone in Lindenhurst
- see the descriptions below for the one created for you! We look
forward to learning about all your reading adventures this summer.
Little Squirts READ-TO-ME Club
Lindenhurst
Memorial Library
For children ages birth to not yet entering
kindergarten.
Pick up our all new READING GAME BOARD at the Children’s
Desk beginning June 20th and get ready to have fun this
summer as you share books, stories, songs, finger-plays
and more with your little one. Little Squirts who complete
two reading game boards will receive an entry ticket to our
Summer Tots Carnival, scheduled for Saturday, August 6th!

On Your Mark, Get Set, READ!
School-age club for students entering grades K-5.
Stop by the library beginning June 20th to register for our
school age club that gives you credit for reading books,
magazines, listening to audiobooks, etc... Simply fill out a review
sheet, or try your hand at rolling the dice to answer a quick
question about your story as we keep track of your reading this
summer. Students who tally just 5 books on their log will receive
a ticket to the always popular, always fantastic, PETRA PUPPETS
ANIMAL GAME SHOW on Wednesday, August 10th, along
with a host of other fun incentives along the way.

Teen Reading Club for students entering
grades 6-8.
Sign up for Get in the Game, READ! starting
June 20th and win cool prizes and raffle tickets
to some of your favorite Lindy locations - just for
reading and attending library programs! Raffles
will be drawn on August 15th, during the SummerTEEN Pizza Party. Plus, if you attend some
of our programs this summer, like our joint Lindenhurst Middle School - Lindenhurst Memorial
Library Books and Bagel programs, you will receive bonus raffle tickets!
Adult Reading Club
Exercise Your Mind. Read!
Join us! Share good books with others and
win prizes. Stop by the Reference Desk to
register and pick up a reading log beginning
June 20th. Return once a week to have your
log initialed by a librarian and turn in a brief review (forms available at Reference Desk), then fill
out a ticket for our weekly prize drawing. You will be given a ticket to fill out for each additional
review you turn in. Reviews will be posted on our Adult Summer Reading Club blog.

for ALL permit holders, regardless of age, in

tour of Oheka Castle, originally the home of
financier and philanthropist Otto Hermann
Kahn. During the Gilded Age of the 1920’s,
Kahn used this 109,000 square foot, 127 room
estate as a summer home where he hosted
lavish parties and entertained royalty, heads
of state and Hollywood stars. After Kahn’s
death, the estate changed hands several times.
In 1984, developer Gary Melius purchased
Oheka and began the painstaking challenge of
restoring the castle to it’s original grandeur. We
continue our travels to the village of Northport
for lunch on your own and time for shopping.
We end our day at the Vanderbilt Mansion in
Centerport, originally the home of William K.
Vanderbilt II and one of the remaining Gold
